scattered showers revisited

Happy June! Thursday is the last day of school for my girls and then it's time to jump into our summer schedule (that really snuck up on me fast!)

Today the Papertrey Ink senior design team is once again revisiting a past set. This month it's Dawn's Scattered Showers and Scattered Showers Additions sets. Both sets debuted in 2009.

For my project, I took out my inks and brayer and used this technique I shared a while back that I call white ink resist.

I stamped the main images from Scattered Showers and Scattered Showers Additions in Fresh Snow ink onto kraft cardstock - this works on other colors of cardstock as well. I stamped some text from Background Basics: Text Style for a little more texture. Then I used my brayer to roll on the hybrid versions of Papertrey inks in Ocean Tides, Ripe Avocado, and Smokey Shadow. The effect looks like a rainy day sky. Where ever the images are stamped in Fresh Snow ink (pigment ink) resisted the other inks that were brayered over the top.

Finally, I stamped the rain drops from Scattered Showers Additions over the top of the images in Ocean Tides ink. I lover all of the textures and layered looks that are stamped on that one layer of kraft cardstock.

See what the rest of the senior design team created with the Scattered Showers sets: NicholeBetsyDawnLisa, and Mish all have projects to share today
