introducing tag-its #5
sweet baby inspiration

daydreamer and tag-its #5

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown!

Today I am helping Nichole introduce a new set that she designed called Daydreamer. It's a simple little bloom building set with a collection of sentiments that will inspire you to follow your dreams! I also have a few more peeks of my Tag-its #5 set tucked into a couple of my card projects today that I have to share.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase at Papertrey Ink on June 15th.

This first card uses one of my favorite flower-type images that looks like a dandelion puff. I lined several up in the row and then used my sewing machine to stitch the stems.

There are some solid circles in the set that I used in a 2 step stamping format for the dandelion puffs. I stamped off the circle inked in Fresh Snow ink once on scrap paper before I stamped it onto the card. That gave me a more subtle white circle that I then stamped over with the puff image in full white ink.

For the next card, I did a simplified version of what I did on this project from the Make it Monday video featuring the cracked glass technique. I stamped the flower tops in Ocean Tides and the stems in Ripe Avocado onto Rustic Cream cardstock. If you aren't comfortable coloring with Copics or other mediums, solid flower stamps like this are just perfect. After the flowers were stamped, I used images from the Garden Variety stamp set and stamped them randomly over the background in Chai tea dye ink. This created a whole other texture onto the background that looks like it could be a purchased patterned paper. The Postmarks set would also be great to use for stamping a subtle background like this.

I distressed the edges of the Rustic Cream cardstock and the Ocean Tides card base with the Tea Dye Duo inks to pull the whole card look together. You can leave the main image as is, like I did on this card - or take it up a notch and do the cracked glass technique over the top. Either way, it is beautiful.

Next I built up my own little garden with a light pastel color scheme. The dotted flowers are embossed in white and then I sponged some Sweet Blush ink around them. I stamped the other flower images in Lemon Tart ink. There are 2 sizes of each flower included in the set which makes filling in a little garden area so easy.

I added in the stems and leaves to complete the look and added one of the "dream" sentiments into the Tag-its #5 frame that is stamped on kraft cardstock with Fresh Snow ink. The look of the Tag-its #5 frame compliments the style of the Daydreamer set perfectly.

Finally I have a simple but elegant wedding card that uses both the Daydreamer and Tag-its #5 sets. I embossed the dotted flowers in white onto Fine Linen cardstock and then die cut the images with the Mat Stack 4 die. I layered some white cardstock that is impressed with the Damask Designs Impression Plate along with a doily that I die cut from kraft cardstock and then stamped with the Tag-its #5 frame in Fresh Snow ink.

A few pearls, a wedding day sentiment, and a sweet Hawaiian Shores Damask butterfly are the details that finish off this card.

Nichole is also sharing about the new Daydreamer set and my new Tag-its #5 sets. Nichole and Erin will also be featuring the new Think Big Favorites and Flower Fusion sets for this month. DawnMelissa, Lizzie, and Alli will have projects to share on their blogs as well with their new sets for this month.
