Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown! Today the whole design team is sharing projects made with one of or both of Melissa's new Sweet Baby and Bundle of Joy sets. Lots of baby themed projects to inspire you for sure!
My new set Tag-its #5 makes an appearance in the project I am sharing today too!
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on June 15th at Papertrey Ink.
My project that I have to share today is a mini scrapbook and card to give as a gift for a family with or expecting a new baby. The pages all include a pocket to slip in a picture for each month of baby's first year. I used both the Sweet Baby and Bundle of Love sets as well as many of the past baby themed sets that Papertrey Ink has available to purchase.
I actually created the album first and then went back and used the cover of the album as inspiration for the card - I just tipped it to a vertical layout versus a horizontal one. I chose colors/patterned papers that weren't necessarily geared towards a boy or a girl.
The pages for the mini scrapbook are done with the Library Card Tag die. I used a horizontal page orientation and just had the one binding clip on the side - you could definitely add more holes too! The "welcome baby" and "bundle of love" sentiments are both from the Bundle of Joy set. The little giraffe (giraffes are one of my very favorite animals!) is from Sweet Baby and die cut with the Sweet Baby die.
There are 12 pages after the cover, one for each month. Another fun idea would be to take the book apart and use each page right in a photo album. The pages measure 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" with some elements going beyond the page edges and so they would fit just right.
Each page layout is very similar. I stamped the Library Card stamp on the right side in Fresh Snow ink, put a small glassine bag pocket on the left side, and then added the month circle tag (there's Tag-its #5!), sentiment & other embellishments. I did have to trim the glassine bag a bit to fit it onto the page. I used a sewing machine to stitch across the bottom to seal up the bottom after trimming. The pocket fits a wallet size photo just perfectly - that's Hana at 1 month old in the picture ;) The facing page is just a solid patterned paper piece. Definitely a perfect place to add journaling or other photos & keepsakes if the gift recipient wants to add more to the book.
Below are all of the page layouts - you can click any of them to see it larger.
Like I mentioned, the layouts are very similar. This does a couple of things: 1. It helps keep the book design uniform and 2. it will speed up your assembly process!
Everything is bound together with a clip ring that I embellished with a bit of ribbon and a little trinket tag (Ranger.)
This gift is already to give! I am in love with it and the sweet soft design...
Head over to Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team and see the projects that they created with the Sweet Baby and Bundle of Love sets! Dawn, Melissa, Lizzie, and Alli will have projects to share on their blogs as well with their new sets for this month.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - see you again tomorrow!
