introducing halloween treats & sweets

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown. Today is going to be so much fun! It's a group post day and everyone on the design team has created projects with my new Halloween Treats & Sweets collection.

The Halloween Treats & Sweets is a whimsical set that features a treat bucket image that you can customize to be a pumpkin, cat, bat, spider, or skeleton (I am sure that you can all think up even more possibilities!) There are also larger images of the different face images in the set that coordinate with a die to make an actual little treat bucket! The best part is that there are dies to go with each size of treat bucket accessory: legs, ears & wings. How fun is that? Halloween Treats & Sweets retails for $24.

I am sharing a project I put together featuring the skeleton image and then I have a few other fun things to share too!

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th at Papertrey Ink.

For this little ensemble I did a card, tag, and larger treat bucket. I pulled out my Halloween Prints patterned paper collection and combined papers from that into my projects.

I die cut several treat buckets from Soft Stone cardstock and then added some texture with the Polka Dot Basics II impression plate after I stamped the skeleton face image in True Black ink. The Double Ended Banners die got put to use to create the little flags on the pennant that I assembled on the Rustic Jute twine.

Of course I had to put together some Halloween tags for my girls, nephews, and family friends - I have more to share on this further down in this post...

A closer look at the skeleton favor treat bucket. I used the little bit larger polka dots on the Polka Dot Basics II impression plate for texture here. The Little Labels set is perfect for adding a quick little tag to the box with a pin and a bit of Halloween trim from my stash.

Swap out some colors and face images to recreate this card in any of the Halloween creatures included in the set!

Speaking of Halloween tags...

This little spider box is keeping them organized for me. How fun would this be for a Halloween party to hold nametags for guests?

Here are all of the tags for this year - I do these tags every year for holidays like Halloween, Christmas & Easter and they are very much in high demand and perfect for adding to scrapbook pages later. You can see past years tags here: 20102009200820072006

A closer look at Tacy's tag. I added texture to the mini treat buckets with various impression plates and put a little bit of "candy" into each bucket by attaching rhinestones that I colored with a Copic marker.

Here's another look at the spider - he has some glitter added to his legs with a glue pen & black glitter. The tag is again from Little Labels with the "eek!" sentiment and aome more Halloween Prints patterned paper die cut with the Double Ended Banners die.

Finally, something fun to try with the treat bucket favor box. I die cut the box from Orange Zest felt and instead of adhesive, I used my sewing machine to stitch the box together. You could definitely glue the felt as well if you didn't want to sew it. I cut the pumpkin face from True Black felt, using the stamp set image as a guide and glued that to the front of the pumpkin.

The tag is made with the Tag-its #7 set. This time I put the tab to the bottom. I stamped the sentiment over the patterned tab area and the pumpkin image, this time with the face added, in the open area. The pumpkin is colored with Copic markers with a little bit of shimmer added with a Stardust pen.
