more halloween fun!
August 11, 2011
It's day 3 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown!
Today have a fun little Halloween packaging idea (that can easily be adapted to other occasions) using the 4"X4" medium square envelopes that Papertrey sells. Making projects to share each month with all of you definitely gives me the opportunity to get things ready for upcoming occasions... One thing I like to have on hand is extra little packages that are easy to grab when we need little gifts for teachers, coworkers, and friends.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th at Papertrey Ink.
I took the medium square envelopes and by adding a little patterned paper and twill ribbon, made them into little pouches perfect for tucking little treats and trinkets into. I made up a bunch of tags using the Fillable Frames Additions 2 frames that coordinates with Fillable Frames #9 die - similar to the Christmas ones I made last fall. I used Tiny Treats: Halloween for the images and the sentiments are from my new Halloween Treats & Sweets set.
To create the little pouch from an envelope: cut a length of ribbon long enough to tie around the envelope, put adhesive onto the outside portion of the envelope flap, lay the twill across the back of the envelope and the flap, and cover the envelope flap with patterned paper taking care to not cut the twill ribbon when trimming the paper to size. I also added some stitching with my sewing machine to add a little extra holding strength.
Fill up your envelope with various treats and trinkets. The envelope would be perfect for packaging a gift card!
Tie the twill around the envelope to secure it closed.
And finally, attach a tag with some button twine.
All of the little envelope pouches are ready to go!
There are more sneak peeks to see today: Nichole & Lisa are sharing the new Harvest Berries & Modern Wood Mats sets. Nichole & Maile are sharing Maile's new Background Basics: Houndstooth & Autumn Acorns sets. Melissa and Dawn will have things to share on their blogs today with their new sets for this month too.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
