tag-its #8 & think big favorites #8

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! I have more to share with you today using my new Tag-its #8 set and I am also mixing in the new Think Big Favorites #8 as well. I do have one more product that I have coming out this month and will share that with you just a bit farther down in this post.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th at Papertrey Ink.

Did you ever have a stamp that was just way to much fun to stamp color and create with? This little snowman image that I included in the Tag-its #8 set is just that for me! I stamped and colored one inside of a red snowflake frame and knew I needed to do more - I think he might just take over my Christmas tags this year! I created several little tags mass production style. You can see my piles of elements that I prepped here. The stamped snowflake/snowman image, the die cut red scalloped circle, The white felt snowflakes that I die cut and stitched, and then for the base of the tag I used Button Boutique to make up some kraft button cards.

Next, I added Ripe Avocado buttons to the snowflakes with some Pure Poppy bakers twine and added the snowman piece to the button cards with some foam squares.

I attached the snowflakes to the button cards with a glue dot, which pretty much finished up the tag. I wanted to do a coordinating card, so I used one of the tags on a Pure Poppy card base, added a sentiment from Think Big Favorites #8 along with some Pure Poppy ribbon that I stitched down with my sewing machine. Think Big Favorites #8 is 3 sentiments taken from Dawn's Signature Christmas set. I love that Dawn has the coolest handwriting that is perfect for using in sentiments - and now sized up to make more of a statement!

Here is my finished pile of tags and coordonating card!

DSC08638

I added a bit of rope twine that I had in my stash of trims for the top of the tag.

DSC08642

My plan for this group of tags is to use them on various gifts. I will certainly make more tags and keep them in a box all together so it is quick to grab a tag to add to a gift and go when we need them! These might end up on teacher gifts or maybe the little gifts that Chad gives to some of his coworkers...

DSC08635

I love how the card turned out. I really kept the card base simple so that the tag could shine. A few little snowflakes scattered down the one side of the card really helped finish it off.

Now onto the other product I have debuting this month...

DSC08612

Dies that coordinate with my Holly Jolly set from last year! I am so excited about little felt holly leaves to add to holiday projects and the die collection includes the 3 sizes of holly that is included in the stamp set. I die cut the leaves from Simply Chartreuse felt and then the largest size berries from Pure Poppy felt (the smaller size leaves are connected together to coordinate with the stamp images.) I added rhinestones for the berries to each one. How completely cute and fun did they turn out?

DSC08613

For the noel sentiment that I am using for this project - that is also from the Think Big Favorites #8 set - I decided to embroider the image on the cardstock with some red embroidery floss. I stamped the sentiment in a coordinating ink, that way it will blend with your floss color just right. The I took a needle and pierced holes along the sentiment. Dawn's cursive writing is perfect for this!

DSC08614

After all of the holes were pierced, I back-stitched the sentiment using 3 strands of floss. For more information on embroidery stitches, I suggest doing a search online or checking your local craft store or library for books on the subject.

DSC08626

How sweet did this little stitched card turn out? Again, I kept the card base layout simple so that the leaves and stitched sentiment could shine.

I have one more card to share with you today...

See what I mean about loving that little snowman? Here he is again, this time stamped on kraft and colored with some white ink. I layered the snowflake tag onto a snowflake punch shape that I glittered. Here's the last sentiment that is included in the Think Big Favorites #8 set! (That one would be perfect embroidered too... all of them would!)

Hungry for more sneak peek projects? Nichole is also sharing the Tag-its #8 and think Big Favorites #8 sets today. Nichole and Jessica are sharing projects with this month's Flower Fusion set. DawnLisaTiffanyMaile, and Melissa will have peeks of projects with their new sets too!

I will be back tomorrow with more - thank you so much for stopping by today!
