anniversary set: pretty peonies
February 15, 2012
Papertrey Ink's 5th Anniversary means the reveal of the new anniversary set Pretty Peonies. This is such a beautiful set. I have two cards to share with you today using the set.
If you like building backgrounds with the Rosie Posie set, you will really enjoy this anniversary set. I stamped the Peony flower in Scarlett Jewel and added the leaves with Ripe Avocado. In between the flowers I stamped the smaller flower outline in Classic Kraft ink. The result is like a pretty fabric that you would make a quilt with.
I used a Mega Mat Stack 5 die cut from kraft cardstock that I trimmed and stitched down to the bottom card edge. The butterfly image is stamped in kraft and then I stamped the sentiment in Smokey Shadow ink.
I used a combination of Rustic Cream, Fine Linen, and kraft for this monochromatic card design. I also added in the Garden Variety set to stamp in the background with the outline flowers that are embossed in clear.
I layered the frame image that is one of two included in the set onto a Mat Stack 1 die cut from kraft cardstock. Lots of distressing pull the card design together.
