anniversary set: pretty peonies
garden variety revisited

february release projects

Hi everyone! Today is the official release day for Papertrey Ink's 5th Anniversary and you will able to order all of the new stamp sets and products tonight at 10PM EST.

I have a few more projects to share with you today to finish off the projects that I created for this 5th anniversary release!

The "you light up my life" sentiment from the Lighten Up set has a special significance for me and so it was no question that was what I was going to use on this project. Background Basics: Medallions is a new favorite. It's so easy to stamp such a pretty multicolored background.

I am loving the monochromatic kraft look. I think kraft is my new favorite to distress with and I recently bought the Tim Holtz blending tool that inking edges and distressing like butter. I used a sponge dauber to add a bit of Fresh Snow ink to lighten the image up around the lampshade.

For the Frilly Flower set, I embossed the flowers in clear onto the bitty dot paper from the new Aqua Mist pattern pack. I added more Aqua Mist ink with my blending tool to define the flowers a bit more.

The Simply You set is such a beautiful new sentiment set. Even though it was designed to coordinate with the Movers & Shakers series, I know it will find its way onto a number of future projects.

I am very excited to see what the new Heart 2 Heart series has in store for us this year. This coffee set is so sweet and I kept with a bit of a Valentine theme, although for any friend this would be suitable anytime.

I added the images with Classic Kraft ink from the Postmarks set on the kraft cardstock. Can I just say again how excited I am about the Classic Kraft ink?

I used just the leave images from the Loveley Leaves set for this card. I stamped the solid leaves in Pinefeather - a color I don't pull out often enough and need to more - and then the leave outlines in Dark Chocolate.

I love the simplicity of this sentiment. I cut a Mega Mat Stack 5 die cut from kraft in half and stitched it down to the edge of the card front. This sweet simple card is perfect to send someone a bit of sunshine and even for sending your sympathies.

The Beautiful Butterflies set has so many possibilities. I love all of the different sizes and styles of butterflies included in the set. I kept things simple for this card, stamping the sentiment from Think Big Favorites #13 in Smokey Shadow (stamped off once) and then adding the butterflies around that.

To get the texture on the wings, I "kissed" one of the mini background images from Background Basics: Medallions on the inked butterfly stamp before I stamped it onto the cardstock.

And finally, one more card using the Beautiful Butterflies set. I stamped the cardstock with Background Basics: Text Style II in Fine Linen ink and then embossed the butterflies in clear. I used a blending tool to add more Fine Linen ink so the butterflies would be more defined.

This last card, is probably one of my favorites. I love the embossing effect and the card is simple and speaks for itself.
