strawberry patch
April 12, 2012
Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink April release countdown! Today is a group post day, like I hinted at yesterday, and I hope you all have some strawberries to snack on - or maybe your favorite strawberry dessert - as you peruse all of the projects that the design team has created using the new Strawberry Patch, Strawberry Patch Sentiments, and the new Berry Basket die.
I even used my 2 new sets: Background Basics: Postmarks and Framed Out #3 in my project today!
All of the new stamp sets and projects that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on April 15th, 10PM EST, at Papertrey Ink.
The Strawberry Patch set has me dreaming of summertime and this sweet set will be perfect for crafting cards and other projects for Mother's Day and just to celebrate summer in general. The Berry Basket die creates the cutest basket that is perfect for tucking gifts into for a loved one. The basket is a nice size - definitely bigger than I thought it would be. I can see making some of these baskets up to organize scrapping and crafting supplies as well!
For the card, I stamped the main strawberry image in Smokey Shadow ink onto kraft cardstock. I really like the 2-step stamping option to color the image in - so quick and easy. I also went back and added white to the berry seeds with a white gel pen.
I stamped the background image from Background Basics: Postmarks in Classic Kraft ink onto the kraft cardstock. Strawberries definitely fit into a vintage theme and adding the postmark images and then distressing the edges with Dark Chocolate brought out the antique feel.
I stamped the mini frame in Classic Kraft onto the kraft cardstock background and then stamped a sentiment combination from the Strawberry Patch Sentiments set. To attach the larger frame that I die cut from white cardstock and stamped with Ripe Avocado ink, I looped ribbon through each side, wrapped it around the cardstock, and secured the ends with brads.
I filled my basket with several fat quarters for quilting - there's definitely room for lots of treasures! I added another frame to the basket front that is attached to some kraft cardstock that I stamped the sentiment on. I looped the ribbon through the square openings on the basket and secured it to the frame piece with brads. Framed Out #3 has a great bookplate look that I am loving!
I love the option to die cut and stamp single strawberries - perfect for a little strawberry embellishment!
Make sure to stop by Nichole's blog where you can link up to all of the design team members projects! Melissa, Maile, Dawn, and Lexi will all have projects to share using their new stamp sets on their blogs today too.
See you again tomorrow! Thank you for stopping by today!
