button bits revisited

Happy May Day! Today is the first day of May - we are very busy with lots of activities (Hana and I slept overnight at the aquarium at Mall of America this past weekend with her Girl Scout troop!) and also are working on wrapping up a few projects at home before we put our house on the market. We are looking at a busy month ahead as well and the girls are counting down the last month of school before summer vacation!

Today is the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and today we are revisiting the Button Bits collection of sets that include: Everyday Button Bits, Holiday Button Bits, Baby Button Bits, and Blooming Button Bits.

For inspiration for the Button Bits challenge, I turned to another project that I created with one of the Button Bits sets for the senior design team challenge in March 2010. For that previous project, I used the flower image from the Baby Button Bits set paired with sentiment from the Tags for Spring set. The cards in the set are smaller, just right for tucking into a gift.

I took the inspiration from this little set of cards to create a set of baby cards. My stash has been lacking in this area and so this challenge was perfect to fill it up!

How cute did this set of baby cards turn out? This time I did a standard card size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and did the card base in white instead of kraft.

I chose the bear image to use on my cards that I stamped and cut out from a patterned paper in the Argyle Socks collection. The top part of the card is made up of papers from the Happy Spots and Pretty Pastels collections.

A coordinating button for each bear tummy finishes off this sweet set of cards.

You will want to be sure to visit the blogs of all of the senior design team to see thier projects created with the Button Bits sets: Betsy,DawnMaile, and Melissa.
