fabulous frames

Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink July release countdown! Today is the last day of the countdown and it's another group post day. Today we are all creating card and scrapbook projects using the new Fabulous Frames set. I have one last peek of Framed Out #6 tucked into one of my projects today too!

All of the new stamps sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on July 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

Here is my scrapbook and card projects together for today. Yesterday, my card came first and the scrapbook page happened from that. Today, the scrapbook page design came first and then I designed my card using elements from the page!

I have always, always wanted to do a page with the "you are my sunshine" lyrics. It isn't an original idea to do that, but this is my take - Papertrey style.

I used the polaroid die cut and stamp to frame this little photo of Chad and I. The frame is stamped with Summer Sunrise - not a color I use often and so I really went out of my box on this project. I added the little "I just love you!" sentiment to the frame in Smokey Shadow ink. At first glance, the Fabulous Frames set seems like just that: frames, but I am SO excited about all of the fun little sentiments that are included. Not to mention, I love the variety of frames included in the set!

The lyrics were die cut from Smokey Shadow bitty dot paper and Summer Sunrise polka dot paper. Die cutting and laying out all of the letters is what took me the longest on this layout. I ran all of my patterned paper through my Xyron machine before die cutting so that I wouldn't have to worry about adding adhesive to the letters when I was ready to adhere them to the page. I also added a few die cut clouds to carry on the sky theme of the lyrics.

Moving on to the card design, I used the same polaroid style frame stamped in Summer Sunrise. On the die cut, it includes the cuts for the nested frames as well - kind of a step up from the Framed Out sets and I just love that! I used the inner die cut in kraft cardstock from Framed Out #6 along with the smaller frame stamped in Fresh Snow and the birthday sentiment stamped in Smokey Shadow.

I stamped the additional fun little sentiments on the polaroid style frame in Smokey Shadow ink as well - aren't they so fun? The bottom border on the card as well as the side borders on the scrapbook page were stamped with the Postmarks set - once with Smokey Shadow and then again with Fresh Snow.

Be sure to stop over to Nichole's blog so that you can link up to the whole design teams to see their card and scrapbook projects created with the Fabulous Frames set. MelissaDawn, and Maile will have projects to share on their blogs with their new sets today too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - tomorrow I will share the rest of my projects from this month's release. See you then!
