wreath for all seasons revisited

I have 2 posts today: the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and the first day of Mr. Bones' Halloween Spook Out!

Happy September! The summer has officially flown by, although my girls are very ready to go back to school. We start this next Tuesday and so the last few weeks have been busy with back-to-school shopping, open houses (Tacy starts junior high - eek!), and teacher meetings. If you follow me on twitter or instagram (I mentioned it here too), you might have noticed I was on vacation. My mom, me, my aunt, and my cousins Bre & Kendra spent some time out in Idaho and Wyoming together. We had a great time and already are looking forward to our next road trip together. This weekend is one last camping trip for our family before we get into our new school schedules.

The first of September also marks the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge. Today we are revisiting the set Wreath for All Seasons. It is such a pretty set and one I admit that I haven't pulled out to use as much as I would like! We all created 2 projects to share today - one with a fall/autumn theme and one from another season.

For both of my cards, I used the very same layout. I changed some colors and a few simple elements which brought the card into the next season of the winter holidays.

My fall card uses Canyon Clay along with kraft and cream. The background "patterned paper" is stamped with the twig wreath, berries (stamped off once for a softer look), sentiment, and ledger images. The focal image is stamped on a Mat Stack 3 image/die cuts and then I added some glittery berries with a glue pen and glitter.

My holiday card is switched up with Scarlet Jewel instead of the Canyon Clay. The other elements that are changed is the Mat Stack 3 image, sentiment, and I used red jewels instead of glitter for the berries.

It's amazing how changing just a few things can change the whole look and theme of your card. It's something to turn to again and again with your favorite card layouts.

I used the ledger images, along with the Library Card stamp, for the background on this card like I did for the projects that I shared today. I love the soft & distressed look that this card has for the holidays.
