Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! I am so excited today to share my new Countdown to Christmas and Countdown Details sets with you as I show you how I am putting together a small scrapbook so that I can document the busy holiday month of December. Today is all about putting the base of the album together and getting some details ready so that it will be easy to add photos, journaling, and other items into.
Countdown to Christmas is going to be a perfect set for documenting the countdown. It includes 2 circular frame designs that coordinate with a 1 3/4" circle punch or die cut and numerals from 1-31 so that you can easily stamp numbered tags to mark each day. The numbers are going to be great for all sorts of projects for counting down to the holidays and a little later in the countdown the design team is going to have loads of inspiration to share, so stay tuned for that! Countdown to Christmas retails for $24.
Countdown Details is a perfect companion set for Countdown to Christmas! I included all sort of little details to add to your projects and I know you will find uses for this set from cards to scrapbook pages to tags and more. Countdown Details retails for $15.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
So let's get started! I really fell in love with the color scheme that I used on the cards I shared on the first day of the countdown and so decided to use that as my jumping off point for my book. Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Spring Moss, Classic Kraft, Fine Linen, & Rustic White are the colors I pulled out to use. I also did some embossing in silver - including the tag for the book plate on the outside of the album.
Here's a look at my basics: an album that holds 6" x 8" pages and coordinating page protectors, patterned papers from the Holiday Flourishes & Swirls collection, and number tags to mark each day of December.
To create the number tags, I used the circular frames from the Countdown to Christmas set as well as other framed from the Tag-its series and also the larger frame in my new Framed Out #9 set. You can easily punch a round 1 3/4" circle from the stamped large frame in Framed Out #9. The numbers are all embossed in silver.
The page protectors that I used for the album are a variety of divided ones. I cut the patterned papers to add to the pages. I didn't fill all of the spaces because I know I will add photos, journaling, etc. through out the book.
Because we aren't into December quite yet, I have only really completed this one page for the front of the book. I used the numbers in Countdown to Christmas to add the year and frame amd then the other details are from the Countdown Details set.
I put together some journaling cards to slip into the album. The lines are from the Journaling Lines set and then elements on the cards are from both Countdown to Christmas and Countdown Details.
I also put together a few embellished cards to add into the book.
For right now I slipped them into the pages, but as I add items to the book, the elements will move around as well.
So right now, I have the base of the book ready to go! I am sure I will share more as the book gets put together, so check back with me in December to see how it's coming together!
Today Nichole will have lots more to see on her blog. Melissa will be sharing the new Winter Hills set and Believe die collection. Ashley will be sharing the new Peaceful Pinecones set. Dawn, Melissa, Maile, and Erin will be sharing more about their new sets on their blogs too.
