countdown to christmas
October 14, 2012
Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! Today is another group post day and today is all about the Countdown to Christmas. There are so many ways to countdown and document the holiday season - it's such a special time of year when there are so many extra special things going on! Doing a scrapbook album for the month of December or finding activities for your family to do and celebrate together are wonderful ways to build traditions and memories that you will talk about for years to come. The design has so many ideas to share today to get ideas flowing!
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th (tomorrow!), 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
I shared putting together the base of my scrapbook that I am doing for the month of December and today I have a fun 12 Days of Christmas countdown garland...
Each pocket has a card with an activity or idea that your family can do together. You could do the activities the 12 days leading up to Christmas, or maybe the garland is just 12 fun activities that you want to do during the holiday season - or you could keep going and have a garland for the 25 days up to Christmas!
I used the Library Card Tag die for a base and used the Library Pocket die to add the pockets to each tag. The Library Card stamp was perfect for stamping and typing up the advent ideas and activities onto.
Make your ideas and activities as simple or elaborate as you want. Do a search on the internet for "advent calendar activities" and you will find many, many ideas!
I added the little details to the tops of the cards with the Countdown Details set.
Next, I took the concept that I used on the tags for my garland and created a card...
Instead of using a number, I added "Merry Christmas" to the circle frame from the Countdown to Christmas set. The little "celebrate" and flag are from the Countdown Details set.
Make sure to stop by Nichole's blog so that you can link up to all of the design team member's projects with the Countdown to Christmas and Countdown Details sets. Then get ready to start your own holiday countdown traditions! Dawn, Melissa, Maile, and Erin will be sharing more about their new stamp sets on their blogs today too.
Tomorrow is the big day and I will be back to share the rest of my October release projects with you! Thank you so much for stopping by today!
