layered postmarks: holiday & think big favorites #21
October 11, 2012
Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! Today I am sharing some more cards using my new Layered Postmarks: Holiday set as well as the new Think Big Favorites #21 set. I have a few little peeks included in my projects of some of my other new sets too!
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
First up is bit of a rustic card done with the holly image from the Layered Postmarks: Holiday set. I did the background on kraft, stamping off to achieve the lighter shades with Pure Poppy and Pinefeather.
The holly leaf die cut was done in Pinefeather cardstock and then stamped with the postmark overlay and a few pearls for the holly berries finished off this card.
I had fun playing with a little bit of technique for this card. I stamped the sentiment from Think Big Favorites #21 in True Black ink first. The postmark star image is stamped next in Versamark ink and embossed clear embossing powder. I sponged Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse ink over the embossed image and then stamped the solid star in Simply Chartreuse ink over that.
A few splatters of water finished off the distressed look that resulted from doing this emboss resist type technique. The result = stunning.
Framed Out #9 makes an appearance on this card as a wreath! A few rhinestones for berries and it's all set as this classic holiday image for your holiday cards.
The sentiment is another that is included in the Think Big Favorites #21 set.
And finally, the tree image from Layered Postmarks: Holiday paired with a sentiment and tag element that are a part of the Countdown to Christmas and Countdown Details sets that I will share more about in the next few days.
Here they contribute to another easy to mass produce card for the holidays!
Today Nichole will be sharing more about Layered Postmarks: Holiday and Think Big Favorites #21 as well as the new Beautiful Blessings: Holiday. Jessica will be sharing the Beautiful Blessings: Holiday as well. Dawn, Melissa, Maile, and Erin will be sharing more about their new sets on their blogs too.
I will be back tomorrow for more and you will want to take notes if you are thinking about making a scrapbook for the month of December ;) See you then!
