october release review
October 15, 2012
It's the Papertrey Ink October release day today! Today I have the rest of my projects for this release to share.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing will be available to purchase today, September 15th (today!), 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
First up is the Peaceful Pinecones set by Dawn - one of my favorites this month :) I did a little selective inking on the branch and needles for the multicolor look.
I also incorporated Erin's Background Basics: Striped Sweater. I stamped it on the Fine Linen cardstock with Fine Linen ink for a subtle background texture on the main stamped piece. I also stamped it in Ripe Avocado for a custom background paper that I used on the left edge of the card.
I used Peaceful Pinecones again on this card with a sentiment from the Beautiful Blessings: Holiday set. This time I did a tone on tone with Classic Kraft for the background and then stamped the sentiment and small pinecone image in Dark Chocolate.
A beautifully simple rustic design.
Next, I used a sentiment and flourish elements from the Over Under Easy and Over Under Easy Holiday Additions sets embossed in silver over a trio of trees from the Tree Trimming Trio set.
Embossing in silver has been finding it's way onto so many projects this month - it's just so pretty on everything!
I used clear embossing powder on this card that uses Maile's new Snow Flurries set.
I sponged on some Aqua Mist ink and then added some glitter by reheating some of the embossed area, quickly adding glitter, and then reheating to set the glitter.
Next up is a rustic snow scene that I created with the new Winter Hills set.
I stamped the images in Fresh Snow ink on kraft cardstock on the ground image from Holiday Button Bits.
When I saw the menorah die in the Menorah Medley die collection, I knew it would be perfect for a shaker card. After I die cut the menorah, I added clear cardstock to the back, used some fun foam (you could use foam tape) to create a "box" to house the glitter, added some chunky glitter, closed up the box with cardstock, and adhered it to the card front. For more information on making a shaker card, you can watch this past Make-it-Monday video here.
A little more silver embossing for the little sentiment flag finished off the card perfectly.
And finally, the next up in the Heart-2-Heart series by Melissa.
This set is such a sweet little wedding set - I love the little birds that I added to the top of the wedding cake - all embossed in white.
