knit bits

Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown! Today is another group post and we are all working with the new sets: Knit Bits and Purls of Wisdom.

My mom is a big knitter and while I have known how to knit for some time, it's not something I picked up regularly to do. Lately it's been a craft I have been turning to often, due in part to a big chunk of my craft supplies in storage while house is on the market. To knit I need just needles and yarn, it's so easy to transport around, and it's a craft I can have sitting with me while watching movies/television. I have completed lots of little projects in the past few months and was super excited to see this stamp set when we got a look at the November release! It's nice to see a knitting themed set without sheep in it - not that I don't like sheep, just something new, fresh, and different is nice :)

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on November 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

The first project I have to share is a card to share with someone that might need a little encouragement with something not so easy going on in their life. I added the knotted string to the "life" word from Purls of Wisdom. I stamped the whole sentiment first in True Black ink on the kraft cardstock and then embossed the cable knit border pattern from Knit Bits over the top with clear embossing powder.

I repeated the cable knit border pattern on the card base with Soft Stone ink on Soft Stone cardstock.

Next, I created a tag for a knitted gift that is for my best friend who is expecting a baby this spring. The pattern for the baby sweater is from the book More Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson.

I kept the tag simple and sweet because the sweater is the part of the gift that I want to shine. I use the Tag Sale #7 die for the base of the tag and then added a strip of knitted patterned paper that I created with Soft Stone cardstock and Winter Wisteria ink. I embossed the sentiment on the tag with white embossing powder.

I added a bit of extra yarn on one of the new Thread Card die cuts and washing instructions (my favorite part!) at the bottom using the new Handle With Care set. The Handle With Care set is one that is not just for knitting projects - any type of stitching or sewing project that you create for someone that has the potential of being washed can now have a custom little care tag included with it!

Stop by Nichole's blog to link up to all of the design team members projects that they created with the Knit Bits and Purls of Wisdom sets. ErinLexi, and Melissa will also have projects to share with their new sets on their blogs too.

Tomorrow is the big day! I will be back to share the rest of my November release projects. Thank you so much for visiting my blog all of your kind comments during this release countdown.
