mazel tov revisited
November 01, 2012
Happy November! Is it not crazy that we are already going into the holiday season? My girls had a great night trick-or-treating last night and we went to a Halloween party sponsored by UCP of Central MN on Monday night. This year we had Minnie Mouse and a spooky witch...
It's also time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge! This month we are revisiting the Mazel Tov set that originally debuted in September 2008.
Creating with this set inspires me to learn more about the Jewish holidays. Many of the stories associated with the holidays I do already know, but I don't know much about the traditions. I created a card for Hanukkah and also one for the Passover holiday. I chose to keep my card design simple to let the beauty of the images in the set shine - literally with some gold embossing.
I embossed the Menorah, Star of David, and sentiment in gold and added touches of blue with twill ribbon and stamping on the custom patterned paper I created at the bottom of the card.
The gold embossing on the kraft is sure pretty, don't you think?
For the Passover card, I stamped the plate image repeatedly on the kraft paper for another patterned paper. I embossed the plate and sentiment in gold again for this card and used the same patterned paper on the bottom edge that I used on the Hanukkah card.
Simple, elegant, and a bit rustic too.
Make sure to visit all of the senior design team members to see the projects that they created with the Mazel Tov set: Betsy, Dawn, Maile, and Melissa.
