spring fling and more wonderful words: hello
February 13, 2013
Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink February countdown and the continued festivities for the 6th anniversary celebration. If you are here for the scavenger hunt, above is the "official" photo. You can click on the photo to make it larger if you want - good luck! For more information on the scavenger hunt and all of the contests going on right now, please visit Nichole's blog.
Today is a group post day and today it's time to look forward to spring! We have had lots of snow and very cold temperatures around here lately and it is definitely a breath of fresh air to be thinking of spring like things.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on February 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
I turned to Pinterest for a little spring time inspiration...

This sweet little bag dressed up with a bunny caught my eye and here is my project that was inspired by the photo...
I kept things simple and sweet for my card and basket, with a pop of color on the bunny and flower on the basket tag.
I stamped the bunny in Berry Sorbet on Vintage Cream cardstock for my card. My card base is Vintage Cream stamped in Fine Linen with the Mini Blooms set and the bunny is sitting on kraft that is stamped with Classic Kraft blossoms from the Mini Blooms set. The mini scallop at the top and bottom of the kraft piece is made with the Heart border die - just the top parts of the hearts are peeking from behind the cardstock.
I stamped the cardstock basket pieces with more blossoms from the Mini Blooms set, keeping it simple with Classic Kraft ink on the kraft cardstock. The tag is cut from Vintage Cream cardstock with a Tremendous Tags die. Berry Sorbet and Classic Kraft make up the stamped flower tucked behind the stamped sentiment and I repeated the scallop border using the Heart border die again.
So sweet and perfect for spring!
Next up is a card using my new Wonderful Words: Hello set - in a completely different theme than spring!
I have to get a few more Valentine cards squeezed in this week - right? I went for the trendy chalkboard look, paring Wonderful Words: Hello with the new Headline Alphabet set. Both the "hello" and letters are embossed with white embossing powder on the True Black cardstock. The scallop on the right side that is embossed is from the Over Under Easy set.
The rest of the sentiments and images are stamped with Fresh Snow ink and then I added some smudging/chalkboard eraser looking marks with more Fresh Snow ink.
Make sure to link up with the whole design team over at Nichole's blog to see the easter and spring projects that they created. Stop by Dawn, Maile, Lizzie, and Melissa's blogs too see what they are sharing with their new sets today too!
