introducing hello, foxy (and more wonderful words: birthday)
March 11, 2013
Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown. Today is all about my new set Hello, Foxy and I have a project that includes my other new set Wonderful Words: Birthday too.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on March 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Like I mentioned yesterday, Hello, Foxy is a sweet little set that introduces this cute new little character to the Pinefeather Press line! The set retails for $5 and there is a separate coordinating wired die for the fox, flower, butterfly, and heart images.
I have 3 cards to share today and for each one I used a different technique to color Foxy in...
First up is a watercolored Foxy. I stamped the fox and other images in a waterproof ink and then used reinkers and a watercolor brush to color in the images.
The fox and flower centers are colored with Canyon Clay, Aqua Mist for the butterfly, Harvest gold for the flowers, and Fine Linen for the shading around the images. The base of the card is stamped polka dots in Fine Linen from the Polka Dot Basics II set.
All of the words in the Hello, Foxy set are separated, making it easy to combine and build your own sentiments for your project.
For this card, I pulled out my paper snips to do a little paper piecing. Foxy's body is a patterned paper from the Fall Prints & Patterns collection and the other paper is Fine Linen bitty dot patterned paper.
I cut out the paper pieced Foxy by hand, but you could definitely use the coordinating dies as well.
Foxy is sending birthday wishes on this last card that I have to share. I used Copic markers to color in Foxy and the balloons tied to her tail for the birthday celebration! The balloon images are from Tremendous Treats: Birthday used with the new coordinating dies that also debut this month.
For the sentiment on the card, I used Wonderful Words: Birthday with the coordinating die. I stamped the birthday with Ocean Tides ink onto the die cut, attached it to the white banner strip, and then added the "wishes" sentiment underneath.
Today, make sure to visit Nichole's blog to see more with Hello, Foxy as well as other new products for this month's release. Make sure to stop by the stamp designer blogs who have new sets this month:Dawn, Maile, Melissa, and Lexi.
Thank you for stopping by today - I will be back tomorrow with more to share!
