round repeats & more
June 14, 2013
Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown! It's another group post day and we are all sharing projects made with the new Round Repeats set. I also have one last card to share that uses some of my new sets.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on June 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
I created 2 cards with the Round Repeats set. One with one of the images stamped in a round formation and then one using the same element in a border design. I used a color combination of Royal Velvet and Pinefeather - something definitely outside my norm.
For the round formation, I stamped twice in the colored inks and then then twice I stamped with Fresh Snow ink. I love how the white ink layered on the colors has a sort of transparency where the colors still show through.
For my sentiment, I embossed it in white on a vellum strip that I ran through my Xyron machine and then adhered over my stamped background. The sentiment stands out on the vellum, but doesn't cover up or take away from the stamped background.
Next, I used the same element and stamped it in a border design with the colors. I added the Fresh Snow ink with the little flower image that I stamped throughout the border design.
I think the result of the colors and design turned out pretty stunning and it has a sort of batik feel to it in a way.
Next up is a card using 2 of my new sets for this month's release: Wonderful Words: Teacher and Teacher Tickets.
I did a die cut inlay for the main sentiment. The "teacher" word is die cut from the kraft cardstock - make sure to hold onto the little pieces for inside the vowels! - and then set the "teacher" die cut from Pure Poppy cardstock into the opening in the kraft cardstock. i went back and added the kraft pieces into the vowels to complete the look.
I turned the tickets onto their sides to create a little banner border under the main sentiment and added the little images from Tag-its #6 onto them. The little banners inbetween are cut from a Countdown Details die.
Make sure to go to Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team and see the projects that they have created with the Round Repeats set. Melissa, Dawn, and Maile all have new sets this month and so stop by their blogs to see more.
Tomorrow is release day and I will be back to share the rest of my projects with you! Thank you so much for stopping by today.
