ultimate birthday inspiration
July 22, 2013
Thank you so much, everyone, for your understanding while I had to take a step away from the Papertrey Ink July release countdown for a family emergency. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you know that my husband Chad had to have a pacemaker put in. His condition is called Complete Heart Block if you are interested in reading more about it. This was pretty unexpected and is unusual for someone of his age, but thankfully he will be okay and I am so thankful for the doctors, hospital staff, family, and friends for all of the love, prayers, and support through everything.
I am going to pick up where I left off and share the rest of my projects for the Papertrey Ink July release. All of the new stamp sets and products are available to purchase now over at Papertrey Ink.
I left off right before the group post of ultimate birthday inspiration and am excited to share my projects with you today. I liked this group project because it made me create a little out of the box. Whenever I design out of my comfort zone, I surprise myself with the results!
First up is a card created with the Rainbow Circles die and Inside & Out: Birthday II set. I went for a bit of a darker color combination for this one for the circle design. I love how the Rainbow Circle dies helped me achieve such a cool, mod, optical illusion effect.
The base of my card is Soft Stone and then I used white cardstock for the circle in the center to pop the "wish big" sentiment. How perfect is this style for anyone, especially leaning towards a masculine look. I am thinking this will be perfect for my nephew who turns 14 this week.
Next is a card using the new Suffix Style dies and By the Numbers Mat dies. My dad turns 60 this next month and so I used this opportunity to create a card for him. I kept things clean and simple with Enchanted Evening, Smokey Shadow, and Soft Stone for my color combination.
I think the candles stamped in Soft Stone in the background add the perfect, yet not too busy look to the card and I love how the sentiments from Inside & Out: Birthday II give the card a letterpress like feel.
If you link up the Ultimate Birthday Inspiration post over at Nichole's blog, you can link to all of the design team members projects that they shared.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and for all of your patience and kind words of support while I was gone. I will be back soon with more to share!
