introducing nuts for you and more wonderful words: thank you

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown! Today I have some cards to share using my new sets: Nuts for You and Wonderful Words: Thank You.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

First up, a few cards with my new Nuts For You set...

I am so excited about this little guy - he is perfect for fall! Here I have him holding a leaf and watercolored everything on kraft cardstock. I did use a waterproof ink (Jet Black Archival by Ranger) so that the stamped image didn't bleed when I watercolored it.

This little squirrel buddy is just right for all sorts of coloring mediums: watercolor, Copic markers, colored pencils, etc.

The little bottom part of the main stamped image is the new Background Basics: Morocco with Classic Kraft ink on the kraft cardstock. I also added a bit of burlap to the card front by stitching it down with my sewing machine.

I had a little fun with this next card! I stamped the squirrels so they look like they are somersaulting across the card front and then stamped acorns all around them. The "go nuts" sentiment was perfect for this wild squirrel party happening here!

The squirrels are paper pieced with assorted patterned papers from my stash and then the details are colored in with Walnut Stain and Tea Dye distress markers.

Next up is a card using my new Wonderful Words: Thank You set. I stamped a background with the Leaf Prints set (can you tell I am turning into full fall mode today?) I spritzed the inked stamps with water before I stamped them for a watercolored look.

The die cut word is inset into the stamped cardstock and I added the "just a note to" right above it. A bit of Rustic Jute button twine finishes off this card.

And finally, one more card with Wonderful Words: Thank You. Here's another approach to the ombre look. I stamped the patterned "thank you" in Fresh Snow ink and then added "for all that you do" repeatedly in an ombre color progression: Terracotta Tile, Canyon Clay, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, and Harvest Gold.
