latte love and more wonderful words: thank you
August 13, 2013
Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown! Today is a group post day and we all are sharing projects created with the new Latte Love set and Coffee Cozy die collection. I have a card to share that uses my new Wonderful Words: Thank You as well.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Now, I don't actually drink coffee, but I do love the smell of it and I love coffee shops. My drink of choice? Chai tea (and Diet Coke. way too much.) There are so many people that are close to me who really do love coffee and I will frequently pick up gifts at coffee shops, etc. for birthdays, holidays, and just because.
Here is the card that I created with the Latte Love set. I really love the "coffee" script word and used it stamped repeatedly with Classic Kraft ink onto kraft cardstock for a custom patterned paper for the card. I love the little circular motif and "I heart coffee" label - they have a bit of a vintage/retro feel.
The red heart die cut border was perfect to add a little more pop of red to this mostly neutral card.
I took the color combination from this card: Classic Kraft, Fine Linen, White, and Smokey Shadow and used it as a jumping off point for the gift set...
The gift set includes: a coffee cozy, gift card holder, and a little bag of coffee with a tag. You could include a card along with all of this, or just use the tag to add your greeting to the recipient.
I made the coffee cozy for my project from kraft cardstock that I impressed with the Rustic Burlap pattern. To help the texture pop a bit on the kraft paper, I used my ink blending tool to add Classic Kraft ink to the surface.
I added the circular motif and "I heart coffee" label to the heart detail. I liked this little combination of elements so much that I used it throughout the gift set. And that little heart label piece - I LOVE that!
Having a repeating element really can help tie your total design together.
I used one of the small frosted tin tie bags for some coffee beans and then added the tag - made with the Tag Sale #3 die - to the bag with some Rustic Jute button twine.
Next up is the gift card holder that is made with the Gift Card Greetings die.
When you open it up, the gift card sits right inside and then I added the sentiment "something to perk up your week!"
And finally, I have a cards to share that uses Latte Love with my new Wonderful Words: Thank You set...
I embossed the coffee cups image from Latte Love as well as the "thank you" and "for you" words in white and then used Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, and Classic Kraft refills to water color the image and around the embossed words.
Make sure to stop by Nichole's blog to link up to the rest of the design team members projects that are created with the Latte Love set. Maile, Melissa, and Dawn have new sets to share this month so be sure to stop by their blogs too.
I will be back again tomorrow. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
