mighty oak and more nuts for you

Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown! It's another group post day and today we are all sharing projects created with the new Mighty Oak set. I also have a card to share that uses my new Nuts For You set.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

First I went to Pinterest for a little fall inspiration. I found this print that I have had pinned for quite awhile - and is still available to purchase on Etsy (as of writing this post)...

And here is my card using the Mighty Oak set...

I used Aqua Mist as the base for my main image and impressed the Mighty Oak cover plate into it as a guide for laying out the tree and leaves. I inked the edges with Classic Kraft and Dark Chocolate and stamped the tree trunk in Dark Chocolate.

I stamped multicolored leaves in oranges, reds, yellows, and greens onto the leave that I had die cut from white cardstock. I stitched all of the leaves down with my sewing machine and even though it was a little putzy, I really like the quilty feel of the card.

I love the sentiments in this set and chose the "two hearts" one which will work wonderfully for an anniversary card. A stitched down a simple heart by the tree pulled the whole thing together.

For this next project, I took colors from the inspiration piece & the candle flame idea came to me as I was stamping and attaching all of the leaves to the first card.

I took the Wishes for You die cut and trimmed off the flame, glittered the die cut, and then added the new flame to the top. How pretty would this be for an Advent or Hanukkah card?

I used a sentiment from the Inside & Out: Birthday II set that debuted last month. I don't think there is a sentiment in that set that I don't like!

And finally, the squirrel from my new Nuts For You set is ready to celebrate Halloween!

I took the pumpkin from Tag-its #7 and put it in the squirrels hands - how cute is that??? I colored the images with Copic markers and added the sentiment from the new Trick or Treat set.

I haven't decided yet, but this little squirrel guy may actually be what I use on my girls Halloween tags this year...!
