more papertrey ink august release projects
August 15, 2013
It's release day at Papertrey Ink! All of the new stamp sets and products that the design team have been sharing during the countdown will be available to purchase tonight, August 15th, 10PM ET at Papertrey Ink.
Today I have the rest of my projects for this August release to share with you...
First up is a card created with Mum's the Word. I was inspired to do a little emboss resist with the images in this set. I embossed the flowers and leaves with clear embossing powder and then used a water brush to color the images with various ink refills.
Where ever the image is embossed, it resists the ink. It truly is one of my very favorite techniques!
I kept going with the emboss resist techniques for a few more projects...
This card uses the new Boutique Borders: Sympathy with the leave images from Mum's the Word. I embossed the frame in clear on kraft cardstock and then the leaves surrounding the frame in clear as well.
When I added the color, I kept the color darker and more saturated towards the frame and then lightened as it went out. I added the sentiment with Smokey Shadow ink. I am so excited about the botanical look on this card!
Here's one last card using the emboss resist technique and the Basket of Blessings set. I embossed the basket and sentiment in clear on kraft cardstock and then added color with ink refills and a water brush.
Emboss resist has such a beautiful effect with both bold images and images with fine details.
The rest of the projects for this release have definitely more of a whimsical feel...
First up is a card with the bubble talk set. I used the solid bubble as my main image and added the heart and sentiment to it. The scribble bubbles are stamped across to create a border.
I sprinkled small hearts and rhinestones across the border to complete the look.
Next up is Apple Prints, and I couldn't resist having the squirrel from Nuts For You to hold one of the apple images from the set.
A few stamped apples in Pure Poppy ink on Pure Poppy cardstock made the perfect coordinating patterned paper.
And finally, a Halloween tag created with the sweet little ghost from Polka Dot Parade #7 along with the new Tricky Trio and Notched Star Banner dies.
I love the star background and am crazy about how the glittered Halloween sentiment turned out! This will be so perfect for tying onto a Halloween treat in a few months!
