quick & easy holiday photo cards and more wonderful words: joy
September 14, 2013
Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown. Today it's another group post day and we are all sharing holiday photo card ideas with you! Again, I incorporated my new set, Wonderful Words: Joy, into my projects.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
We all know that photos are the thing to send at the holidays. I love to see pictures of my loved ones each year. I also love handmade cards - both sending and receiving them during the holidays too. Here are a few ways to incorporate both of these ideas into one and I think you will really get excited about the new dies and sets are debuting to help you create custom photo cards - I know I am!
For this photo card, I started with a 5 x 7 photo and then added the different die cut pieces to the bottom and lower right corner. Before I die cut, I ran everything through my Xyron sticker machine so there was absolutely no worries about how I was going to adhere everything down.
I even did a little stamping! I added the "to you and yours" from the Instant Photo: Holidays set to the strip right below the "love". I also added the year onto the small white banner piece using the Library Ledger Year Additions set in Smokey Shadow ink.
I love how this card compares to the ones can you order online, but printing your own photos and adding a little bit of cardstock? You will definitely save money and can also say that you did make them yourself!
This next card is a perfect little gem. I am so in love how you can take a cute little 2 1/2" square photo (like ones from Instagram!) and wrap it up into this little package. it's like a present in itself! I used my new Wonderful Words: Joy set and coordinating die cut for the main "joy" on the front of the wrap and also included some stamped ones from the Instant Photo: Holidays set.
The inside tag pulls out...
On the tag you can add a sentiment or write a special note to the recipient. And how perfect is this sentiment to coordinate with the "joy" sentiments on the front of the card? I added the year in again too in the lower right corner.
I can see scrapbooking applications for this photo wrap as well...!
Make sure to stop by Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team and see what the photo cards that they created to share with you today. The stamp designers have been busy this month so stop by their blogs too: Erin, Lizzie, Dawn, Lexi, Melissa, and Maile.
I will see you again tomorrow to share the rest of the projects that I created for this September release. Thank you so much for stopping by today.
