introducing rustic wreath & boutique borders: thinking of you
October 10, 2013
Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! Today I have projects to share with my new Rustic Wreath set to share as well as projects made with Dawn's new Boutique Borders: Thinking of You set.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
The one big thing about the sneak peek pictures is that it was hard to tell the size of the wreath in this set. It's significant for a card front with a diameter of just under 3 1/2".
I love this sweet rustic card - it is so me. I embossed the wreath on kraft cardstock with clear embossing powder and then watercolored over it with Ripe Avocado ink refill and a water brush.
This wreath is perfect for stamping sentiments right into the center, but for this card, I used the Bountiful Banners set to add the "Christmas Joy" sentiment. A bit of white/silver twine (from The Twinery) down the side of the card is just the right accent to finish the card off.
Next up is a nod to the chalkboard trend and how perfect is Rustic Wreath for this look? The wreath, sentiment, and small sprigs are embossed in white and then I added some white ink to the edges and around some of the images by smudging it with my fingers.
I am not sure that this is a trend that I will ever get tired of.
Next I used the Rustic Wreath set with a sentiment from Dawn's new Boutique Borders: Thinking of You set. Rustic Wreath is definitely one that can be used for occasions other than the holidays. I know that you already probably have many sentiments that will work well in the center of the wreath.
I stamped the wreath in Ripe Avocado and then ran a watercolor brush over it for a soft look. I added a few more berries in Dark Chocolate to finish it off.
Finally, I have a card to share that uses Boutique Borders: Thinking of You along with the Rustic Wreath die. I die cut the wreath from Spring Moss patterned paper to encircle the frame and sentiment on the card. I am excited how this die will work well with the stamped image and also well on its own.
You can see more over at Nichole's blog. Melissa will be sharing more about Polka Dot Parade #9 and Erin is sharing more about her new Stitching Lines dies. The stamp designers have been busy this month so stop by their blogs too:Erin, Dawn, Lizzie, Melissa, and Maile.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back tomorrow with more to share!
