framed friends die and wonderful words: friends
introducing doodlie-do and more four square

feather finery and four square

Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink January countdown. Today is a group post day and we are all sharing projects created with the new Feather Finery set. I also have a fun little Valentine project to share that uses my new Four Square set.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on January 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

For our cards that we created for today, we went to Pinterest (find my Pinterest page here) for some inspiration. This is a photo that I have kept in my files for years...

I have a bit of an affinity for feathers (Heather - feather...!) and so I was excited to find out that we have a new set that features them. For the card I am sharing, I created a pretty a card with a pretty clean and simple look.

The feathers are stamped in a heart formation with True Black ink and then I embossed the polka dots in white over the top.

I added a sentiment to the card on a strip of paper that is similar to the label on the inspiration piece.

Now for the next card, I kept the layout the same, but did a few extra things to step up the card just a bit...

This time, I die cut the feathers from Smokey Shadow ink and then stamped the feathers onto them with True Black ink. I again embossed the white dots onto the feathers in white.

I added a few rhinestones to the dots on the feathers for some extra sparkle. I love the extra depth and dimension that the feathers have by just doing those couple of extra things! A few more extra details included popping the feathers and sentiment strip up with some foam tape, pushing up the edges of the die cut feathers just a bit, and the added polka dot strip of paper on the right side of the card.

Here's a look at the cards side by side. The clean and simple card on the left and then stepped up version on the right.

Next, I have some sweet little Valentines to share for my girls that use my new set Four Square.

I used the Lunchbox Note die to make the Valentine and the Four Square frame fits perfectly inside of it. The Four Square set also coordinated with the 2 1/4" square Limitless Layers die set, which would also work well with the Lunchbox Note die. To seal the Valentine closed, I used a heart from the Cover Plate: Hearts die that I had run through my sticker machine.

When you open up the Valentine, the frame stamped in Hibiscus Burst sit perfectly inside and then I stamped the "love you" sentiment in Pure Poppy ink below it.

I used images from the the Tiny Treats: Valentine set inside the frame that I colored with Copic markers. The stamped red frame around the image is from the Simple Valentine set and is stamped in Pure Poppy ink.

These sweet little cards are ready to tuck in with the treats that we give the girls for Valentines day.
