introducing embellished elegance

Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! Today is a group post day and we are all sharing projects created with the new Embellished Elegance set. I also have a card to share today that uses a few of my new products along with the Embellished Elegance set.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on March 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

The Embellished Elegance set is exactly what the name implies - so elegant! I have 2 cards to share with you today. One is a one layer card and the second takes the same card and turns it up with die cuts, layers, embellishments, etc.

I rarely make a one layer card. It seems like I always want at least one other layer of some sort and so this was a little out of the box for me to just leave the card front as is. I am really happy with how beautiful this turned out though!

I stamped the sentiment first and then built the wreath around it. I started with the branches in Classic Kraft, added leaves in Spring Moss, there are flowers in both Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold, and then I added the speckles in Fresh Snow ink.

I have always really loves how kraft cardstock mutes the colors and gives you a rustic and almost country feel. This card is an absolutely perfect example of that look. So, SO pretty!

One the second card, I stamped the "happy" word first and then started arranging the die cut leaves and branches around it. I decided to add the speckles underneath the die cut pieces and so sort of eyeballed the area to stamp them in. I love the result of them peeking out from behind.

The "everything" part of the word is embossed in black on a vellum strip and then I layered that in with my wreath pieces. After the branches and sentiment strip were in place, I added lots of the little flowers onto the wreath. Tiny rhinestones are in the centers of the larger flowers for a little bit of sparkle. A finishing touch is a bit of Ocean Tides grosgrain ribbon layered under some Rustic Jute button twine.

Both cards turned out just beautiful and so whether you keep it simple or step it up and get into adding lots of layers and embellishment, Embellished Elegance is perfect for creating gifts and cards for special occasion.

For this card, I stamped the branches, leaves, and flowers onto the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 2 die cut from white cardstock. I used the same colors that I stamped with on the previous projects and it is very neat to see the difference in how the color appears when stamped on each color. The only difference on this card is that the speckles are stamped with Fine Linen ink.

I layered the stamped journal card onto the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 1 die cut from kraft cardstock. You could definitely leave this card as is and slip it into a pocket style scrapbook layout instead of using it on a card.

The "happy spring" sentiment is from the Monthly Moments: March set and then I used one of the journal cards from the Monthly Moments: March journal card collection on the bottom part of the card front.
