Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink April release countdown! Today I am so excited to share more of this month's Monthly Moments: April collection with all of you! I also am sharing more about the new sets Simply Framed and Wet Paint II - perfect companion sets for the Monthly Moments collection. I have LOTS to share today, so I hope you are ready for all of the inspiration...
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on April 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
This month, the colors scheme is Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides, Harvest Gold, and Smokey Shadow. It's a little bit of an nontraditional color palette for the Easter season, but I love it and I know that you will love it too!
Here is a peek at the Monthly Moments: April kit that includes the Monthly Moments: April stamp set, the Monthly Moments: April Journal Card collection, the Monthly Moments: April die, the Monthly Moments: Journal Pocket 1 die, the Monthly Moments Mini Journal Card die, and the Monthly Moments: April digital download. Aside from the digital download, all of the items are available to purchase separately. The digital download is exclusive to the Monthly Moments: April kit.
I have a couple different layouts to share with you today. The first one is a layout from Easter a few years ago. I can't tell you how great it was to do a little catch up for my Easter albums - just looking through the pictures from that year was so much fun.
Here are the layouts I put together for Easter 2011. This time I did one pocket style layout for when we did a little easter egg hunt at my parents house and a traditional layout of my girls in their Easter dresses.
Here is a closer look at the pocket style layout.
The layout includes photos of my girls and nephew with their eggs, one of Hana looking for her egg in a tree, some journaling, and lots of fun little Eastery extras.
For the title on my page, I used the new Stenciled Alphabet Blocks dies to make an Easter banner, I attached them to Rustic Jute button twine and then added the buttons that I die cut with the new Button Stacks II dies. I used the Button Stack II die cuts quite a bit on both of my Easter layouts that I am sharing today for embellishing.
I used the A Few Pointers die cut in kraft cardstock and added the "easter basket" sentiment from Monthly Moments: April to it.
I typed up some journaling about the day onto the Easter egg journal card from the Monthly Moments: April Journal Card collection. The mini flower and "remember this" sentiment strip are both included in the Monthly Moments: April set. The "love this" sentiment is from the new Simply Framed set on a 1/2" circle punched from kraft cardstock.
The egg hunt journal card using the Hippity Hoppity set and doing a little watercolor on the kraft cardstock - the bunny is actually painted with some white watercolor paint that I had on hand. The bottom of the card includes a strip of Ocean Tides cardstock that I stamped with the Polka Dot Basics III set.
This journal card is created with with Ocean Tides cardstock that I stamped with the Polka Dot Basics III set and then added the egg images from Monthly Moments: April in Fresh Snow ink. The "remember this" square is from the new Simply Framed set. I stamped that in Classic Kraft and then added the egg image in the opening.
Here's another arrow embellishment I created like the one I shared above on the picture with Hana and her Easter basket.
This is the traditional scrapbook layout on the facing page with my girls in their Easter dresses. I always try to make sure and take a moment to do photos of at least the girls on different holidays. If things are going really well, then do as many with other family members that are there too. Even if it's tough to get the pictures, I always look back and am so glad we made the effort. Even if the pictures are not perfect, I still cherish them.
Here's a fun little grouping of embellishments. The sentiment circle is from the Simply Framed set. I stuck it onto a piece of cardstock right through my typewriter so that I could add the caption right onto it. The egg was created with the Seasonal Stitching: Eggs dies and the flower is made wit the new Button Stacks II dies.
I took the Monthly Moments: April Journal Pocket 1 die cut from Lemon Tart patterned paper and attached it right to the layout. The Monthly Moments: Mini Journal Card is peeking right out of the pocket for a title on the page.
Isn't that chick journal card from the Monthly Moments: April journal card collection the cutest? The "peep!" sentiment from the Scrambled Eggs set was a must add for a little bit of fun.
More layouts full of favorite photos and memories are ready to tuck into my albums.
Here is a layout that is a bit more current...
In fact, my mom and I went on this adventure just a few days ago. The magic of digital photos and 1 hour photo printing make this so possible!
We took part in the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop - 17 shops in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area took part. We took a day off and went down to check some of them out!
I took the shop hop button and cut the pin off the back so I could tuck it right into my album. A few foam dimensionals stacked up did the trick to secure it to the card. I added the "april" word die cut in two kraft cardstock layers for a bit of extra dimension (and yes, I know the date should read the 11th, not the 12th - no worries, I will fix it!)
I pulled out the Knit Bits and Purls of Wisdom stamp sets (of course!) to use on my page. The cabled image is stamped on kraft cardstock here and I added the "remember this" sentiment square from Simply Framed with the knitted heart image.
I labeled a photo of my purchases with the "snap shot" label from Simply Framed and created the "stitch" journal card with the Simply Framed die cut with white and kraft cardstock and then stamped the "stitch" sentiment with the ball of yarn and needles underneath it.
I listed the 7 shops that we went to that day (out of 17!) The first two were our favorites and so if you are in MN and love to knit, you might love to check them out! Antique Alphabet was perfect for numbering the shops that I typed out on the journal card and then I added the "we were here" sentiment from the Simply Framed set in a 1/2" circle punched from kraft cardstock.
Here's some more cable stamped cardstock. On top of the cabled stamping I added the "me & you" sentiment stamped with words from the Wet Paint II set and the ampersand from the Simply Framed set.
The details journal card is made from kraft cardstock. I typed up the journaling and then added the "details" sentiment from the Wet Paint II set down the side and the polka dot strip is from one of the 4" x 6" journal cards in the Monthly Moments: April journal card collection.
The best part about making this layout right after it happened is that all of the information was very fresh in my mind. I know I can't accomplish this with all of my scrapbook layouts, but it sure is great when I can.
How about a few more journal cards to inspire you? These are created with the Simply Framed set and die and a few other things too.
The "hello" on this card is from the new Phrase Play #3 die that I cut from kraft cardstock. The frame is made with patterned paper from the Argyle Socks patterned paper collection. I stamped the bottom of the white part of the journal card with the polka dot pattern in Harvest Gold ink and then added the date image with Smokey Shadow ink.
The little pices in the Simply Framed set are so great for builing images on your journal cards. I stamped the lettered pattern in Spring Moss, added the file tab image in Simply Chartreuse and the "noted" sentiment in Smokey Shadow ink. I am really into punching these mini sentiment from the Simply Framed set out with a 1/2" circle punch and I did that again here too. The lined stamped at the top of the journal card are from the Journal Accessories set.
I stamped the striped pattern in Fresh Snow ink from the Simply Framed set on the bottom of the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 1 die cut from white cardstock. I added the "today documented" sentiment to the top part of the card in Ocean Tides and True Black ink.
