introducing bowl of sunshine
June 14, 2014
Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown. Today is another group post day and we are all sharing projects created with the new Bowl of Sunshine set, the new Berry Basket II die, and I have a little mini book gift idea that uses my new Monthly Moments: June and Monthly Moments: Tabbed sets.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available for purchase on June 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Here's a look at my little gift ensemble. The new Berry Basket II is just the sweetest. I die cut and assembled my basket with Orange Zest cardstock for a bright and summery feel and to go along with the oranges on the card and orange slice on the front of the mini book.
The card is created with the Bowl of Sunshine set and I LOVE the bowl that has the little flowers reminiscent of the avocado Pyrex dishes that we had growing up. I had to stamp the bowl in Ripe Avocado and and then filled it with the oranges included in the set.
The little scalloped trim is actually from the Berry Basket II die cut that I trimmed off to use on the card and coordinate it with the assembled basket. The polka dot background is from the Ombre Builders set that I stamped in Fresh Snow ink.
And here's the sweet little mini book that I put together using the Journal Card 3 die for the page bases. I stitched up the orange in felt using the new Seasonal Stitching: Summer Fruit dies.
I used Monthly Moments: June and Monthly Moments: Tabbed to add stamped details to the book and then bottom borders on each page are made with the Journal Card Border dies and a Monthly Moments: June journal card. The book is tied together with some Orange Zest twill ribbon.
I used my Instax camera to take pictures of Hana and her friend. These little instant photos fit perfectly onto the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 3 die with enough room for other elements.
I used the new "happy" Wet Paint Cuts die cut from Orange Zest paper to embellish this page.
On this page I used the "snapshots" circle with the sunshine image in the center and the "fun in the sun" sentiment punched out with a circle punch from Orange Zest paper for embellishments on this page.
Keeping things simple with a similar page layout and a few extras on each page will help speed up putting together a project like this.
On this last page I added a tab to the bottom of the picture that I made with the Monthly Moments: Tabbed set and stamped the sentiment on the side of the page from the Monthly Moments: June set.
The best part of this little book the that I can add more little pages so easily as the summer goes on. I just need to keep myself stocked up on film for my Instax camera!
