introducing cat's meow
June 10, 2014
Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown! I have so much to share with you in the next few days! I have three new stamp sets making their debut including this month's Monthly Moments collection. I will share about the Monthly Moments products a little later in the countdown. Today I sharing my "purrfectly" sweet new set: Cat's Meow.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on June15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Cat's Meow bring you another little character to add to the line up of cuteness that includes a fox, a bunny, a penguin, and a squirrel. This new kitty friend is just the cutest and you are going to have too much fun coloring her with Copics, watercolors, paper piecing, etc. Cat's Meow retails for $5 and there are coordinating die cuts that will be available to purchase as well.
My daughter, Hana, is completely crazy about cats and I definitely designed this set with her in mind. She was SO excited when my set arrived and did a little stamping and coloring of her own. She colored the cats here to match our two brown tabbies - one is more striped (Shy) and the other is more dotted (Sage) as you can most definitely tell here :)
For the first card that I have to share, I stamped the cat in a waterproof ink and then watercolored it with Classic Kraft ink refill. I stamped the balls of yarn all around the cat image and then ran a wet brush over them to continue the watercolor look.
The stamping on the card base is using the set Circle Scribbles and I love it how it looks like yarn is just everywhere...
Next, I had to do a calico cat card! I die cut and stamped the cat on white cardstock in True Black ink and then used punched circles from Orange Zest, Dark Chocolate, and Classic Kraft patterned papers to add the calico spots.
I used one of the new images from the new Ombre Builders set (that you will hear more about later in the countdown) to add a few stamped strips below the sentiment (my card layout inspiration was this card by Julie Ebersole) and I love how it has a sort of washi tape look.
How much fun is it going to be to use Copic markers to color these cute cats in fun patterns? The possibilities are just endless to match your cat to a pet or favorite breed?
This cat is colored with Copics to represent an orange tabby and is chasing the wind up mouse toy included in the set.
And this cat is colored like a brown/grey tabby (my cats are of this variety) and is chasing a ball of yarn.
Can you hardly stand all the cat cuteness?
There is more to see on this first day of the May release countdown. Nichole will be sharing lots over at her blog, Melissa is sharing the new Topiary Trio set, Betsy is sharing the new No Strings Attached set, and Laurie is sharing the new Phrase Play #5 set. Make sure to stop by the stamp designers blogs to see projects with their new stamp sets and products: Dawn, Lizzie, and Erin.
Thank you for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share!
