Here are my projects created with the Make it Market: Beautiful Brushstrokes kit:
I have always loved working with watercolor and it has been a delight to work with the items included in the kit.I did some different things with each card that I created.
The watercolor paper included in the kit is wonderful. It is so true that your are going to get the best results when you use the best quality materials that you can afford. And the quality in the kit is top shelf for sure.
I used a wet brush to dampen my paper first and then stamped the images onto it. Since the paper was wet, the colors flowed around on the paper just as if I had painted them on with a brush.
The largest flowers are (bottom to top layer): Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, and Scarlet Jewel. The medium flowers are: Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, and Terracotta Tile. The smallest flower is: Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, and Summer Sunrise. The leaves are: Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado. The neutral colored flowers are: Fine Linen and Classic Kraft.
I also used wet brush on some of the edges of the stamped flowers and leaves to cause the color to flow even more and then result is just beautiful. And I am just in love with the gorgeous "rainstones" that are included in the kit. They are the perfect accent and look just like water droplets in a garden.
For this next project, I used the sticky back canvas sheets included in the kit to build my flower. This canvas is just the coolest and so easy to use. I stamped the flower outline image in a waterproof black ink onto the flower die cut canvas piece and then used watercolor paints to add color. I did the same with 3 leave die cuts and used the smallest flower image to add a center on my flower with a little more dimension.
I peeled off the backing paper and then arranged everything how I wanted it to go onto True Black cardstock. The sentiment and frame are also stamped on the sticky back canvas and I attached that right next to my assembled flower.
I love how the layering of the die cut canvas adds dimension to my flower and then I had to add a few rainstones to my finished flower.
For my final project that I have to share today, I had a lot of fun playing around with watercolor paints and the dot images included in the Beautiful Brushstrokes: Additions set that included in the kit.
I put the watercolor paint right onto the stamp to ink it up and stamped it onto the watercolor paper. A cool thing about watercolor is that when something didn't stamp as smoothly as I liked, I used a wet brush to just even out the image - so easy! I also stamped the solid leaves by inking up the stamp with the watercolor paints as well.
After I stamped the circles and leaves, I stamped the outline flower and leaves over the top and instantly my image bloomed into a flower garden!
I stamped the "thanks" sentiment and then added the curly addition, both from the Beautiful Brushstrokes: Sentiments set that is included in the kit. How sweet is that little curly bit to add to the end of the sentiments? A bit of the multicolored twine included in the kit was perfect to finish off the card.
How gorgeous is working with all of the watercolor goodness? Remember that there is only a limited amount of kits available so be sure to log on to order so you don't miss out!
