designer phone case inspirations & more monthly moments: july
July 14, 2014
Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink July release countdown! Today is another group post day and the whole design team is sharing projects created with Erin's new Phone Case die collection. Erin did it again with this cute little accessory that is a must have for your phone - or mp3 player! I also have a Monthly Moments layout to share that uses one of the Phone Case Details dies as an accent on the page.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on July 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
I mean, seriously, how cute did this turn out? I used Smokey Shadow felt for the main part of my case. After I die cut the main pieces of the case, I used the chevron stitching die that is a part of the Phone Case Details die collection and cut it several times down piece for the front of my case.
I used aqua and light green embroidery floss to stitch up my design in a sort of "satin stitch" style and then I stitched up the rest of the case with a dark grey embroidery floss.
I am so in love with how that turned out and it's so on trend with what you might find out in the stores. I have an iPhone 4S (right now...) and that fits perfect into the case with a little wiggle room at the top.
I used the strip closure piece over the top, added a button to the front piece of the case and snipped a slit into the closure strip for a button hole.
Here's a layout created with the Monthly Moments: July set to celebrate the recent 4th of July holiday in the United States. I used photos of the fireworks that I took while we watched the from the boat on the lake at my parents house.
I had nothing but fun putting this little collage of elements together for the title of the page. I used the new United States die and put the "july" die cut and stamped word and "4th" circle element onto it. I dotted the "i" in "july" with one of the stars from the Monthly Moments: July set. I used the little argyle style stitching piece that is part of the Phone Case Details die collection and tucked it on the right side of the United States die cut piece. These detail pieces are a great way to add a little something extra to so many projects.
Here's my journaling that I typed up where you can learn our little secret - we celebrated the 4th on the 5th! They usually shoot fireworks off on that lake the day after and it's just something we have been liking to do and miss all the crowds at the displays in the city where I live.
There are stars stamped on the Fine Linen cardstock background and I added a few star brads across the page for another fun detail.
Stop by Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team to see their phone case projects. I know you are going to be head over heels with the designs that everyone came up with! Make sure to stop by the stamp designers blogs to see their new sets and products: Dawn, Melissa, and Lizzie.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back tomorrow to share the rest of my projects from the July release with you. Can you believe it's the middle of July already??
