introducing banner sentiments & botanical blocks II

Welcome to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink July release countdown! Today I am introducing one of my new Banner Sentiments set and I am also sharing the beautiful new Botanical Blocks II set.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on July 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

One of my most used and favorite die is the Double Ended Banners die. It is perfection for adding a sentiment or little extra ribbon strip to your projects. It's always good to have a set that you can just grab and use for the banners instead of digging through your collection and this set is just that. The majority of the sets are sized for the larger banner and there are some that will fit well on the small banner too. I also included a few flourishy images to add to the ends of sentiments whether you use them on the banner die cuts or not! Banner Sentiments retails for $15.

And then, of course, there is the beautiful Botanical Blocks II set. It includes 2 more floral image blocks and coordinating sentiments. The flowers are so perfect for coloring techniques and I put together several projects that highlight just that. Botanical Blocks II retails for $15.

Lilacs are one of my favorites and I was so happy to see them included in the Botanical Black set! I colored the lilacs in with Copic Markers for this card. It's so easy to trim the block right out to attach to your final project.

I used the shorter banner here with a sentiment from the Banner Sentiments set. The "on your special day" sentiment coordinates nicely with the "all the best" sentiment that I stamped in the flower block with Fine Linen ink.

I used the Polka Dot Basics set to create a polka dot patterned paper by stamping the dots in Fresh Snow ink onto Fine Linen cardstock. The cardstock base for this card is Winter Wisteria - so pretty!

I broke out the ink refills to do a little watercolor on this next card. First I embossed the flower with white embossing powder onto Fine Linen cardstock. I really love embossing mixed with watercolor because of how it pops the image and resists the ink that I watercolor with. Isn't the white image stunning on the Fine Linen cardstock?

For the watercolor I used Berry Sorbet and added Pure Poppy to shade the flower. The leaves are done with Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado. One of these days I am going to put together a little watercolor chart of my favorite color combinations for shading!

I used the "thinking of you always" sentiment with out the banner die cut for this card and added a little flourish to each end of the sentiment with Fine Linen ink. It's a subtle detail that adds an elegant touch.

And finally a simply elegant card to send your sympathies. I did more watercolor here are turned the flower to a vertical orientation. I stamped the sentiment from Banner Sentiments onto the larger Double Ended Banner die cut from kraft cardstock and then trimmed the end even with the left side of the Rustic White cardstock.

This time to watercolor I used Autumn Rose, a bit of raspberry Fizz, and Scarlet Jewel to shade. The leaves are Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado.

To finish off this card, I snatched a few of the rainstones from the Make it Market: Beautiful Brushstrokes kit. I am going to have to start hoarding these or I will run out soon because they are too wonderful!
