vegetable garden revisited

Happy August everyone! We are in our last stretch of summer here - our biggest summer adventure has been camping and the weather has been just gorgeous for it! We started some of our school shopping and the first day of school will be here before we know it!

The first of the month also means that it is time for the senior design team challenge and this month we are revisiting the Vegetable Garden set. It's the perfect time of year as gardens are becoming full of so much vegetable goodness. County fairs and farmers markets are showing off all of the bounty. I turned to some more farmers market signs and stationary for inspiration for my projects that I am sharing with you today.

I couldn't find an exact source for this farmers market sign that is a cream and white on a darker neutral background. If you know the source, please feel free to share in the comments and I will add it to the photo.

I pulled out some kraft cardstock and Vintage Cream ink to stamp the vegetable images with a similar look as the bike on the sign. I let the Vintage Cream ink dry completely and then stamped the vegetable details in Classic Kraft ink over the top. Isn't the effect gorgeous?

I stamped a few more details like the vegetable names and some elements from the Garden Variety and Garden Variety II sets to complete my design. The sentiment is from the Garden Variety II set. Isn't it perfect paired with the vegetables?

I love this letterpress radish card and how the words cross over the image of the radish (I know it's the packaging, but I really like how that looks.)

Since the radish is smaller than the one in my inspiration, I did my design on a smaller scale and added it to a card front. I added the seed packet from Garden Variety II in Fine Linen ink to ground the radish a bit and I love the letterpress quality it has.

I stamped the sentiment on a vellum Double Ended Banners die cut and attached that over the radish like in the inspiration piece. I love how the vellum lets you see through to the radish, but helps the sentiment "pop" on top of it.

Make sure to visit the rest of the Papertrey Ink senior design team to see the projects that they created with the Vegetable Garden set: BetsyDawnMaile, and Melissa.

I will see you very soon for the August release countdown! Thank so much for stopping by today!
