introducing book club
September 14, 2014
Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! Today is another group post day and the whole design team is sharing projects created with the new Book Club set and new bookmark dies.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
The new Book Club set that Dawn designed includes some of the greatest quotes from noteworthy books. They are perfect for creating bookmarks and cards for your favorite book loving loved ones - and even if they aren't into the books, the quotes are great for so many occasions.
I used a quote for this card from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland that is so perfect for a congratulations card. It's so true that when you accomplish something great, like graduating from school, that you are not the same person as when you started your journey.
I stamped the sentiment onto the Basic Bookmarks 1 die and trimmed it to attach to the Soft Stone card front that I stamped stars on from the Super Stars set. A few stars die cut from silver shimmer cardstock with the new Shaker Shapes: Circles die are the perfect embellishment.
I created a coordinating tag for the card with the Basic Bookmarks 1 die. The "congratulations" is stamped onto a Double Ended Banners die cut from a Monthly Moments: September journal card. The stars are stamped with Classic Kraft on the kraft cardstock tag base and I added a few silver shimmer stars to the tag too.
This card and tag ensemble came together beautifully!
Next I have some bookmarks to share. How perfect are these for gift giving?
First I used the Basic Bookmarks 1 die paired with a quote from Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. This quote is absolutely perfect for a bookmark!
I added some leaves from the Monthly Moments: September set and embellished the tag with some strips trimmed from Monthly Moments: September journal cards. The ribbon at the top of the book mark is Terracotta Tile twill ribbon.
And finally, I have a stitched bookmark that is perfect to gift to your favorite teacher. I cut the bookmark with the new Stitched Bookmark dies from kraft cardstock. On the top layer I die cut the stitched window. I added a piece of the apple journal card from the Monthly Moments: September journal card collection to show through the window and then added the "teacher" die cut word in True Black cardstock. You could, of course, use alphabet dies to personalize the bookmark with any word or name that you want!
I stitched the window opening with a red embroidery floss and then stitched the whole bookmark together with a tan embroidery floss. I used a little more red embroidery floss to create this tassel for the top of my bookmark - it turned out pretty good!
I think a perfect gift would be to choose a book and then tuck a bookmark like one of these inside.
Stop by Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team to see their projects created with the Book Club set and new bookmark dies. You can also link up to there to the other stamp designers that have new sets and products debuting this month.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I will be back tomorrow to share the rest of my projects from the Papertrey Ink September release.
