It's time for another dose of Monthly Moments: September inspiration!
You can purchase the Monthly Moments products over at Papertrey Ink. There's an easy to find tab for scrapbooking right on the front page. Click that and it will take you right where you need to go! Another easy way to find the Monthly Moments products is to just type "Monthly Moments" right into the search box at the top of the page at the Papertrey Ink website.
Isn't it wonderful that autumn is finally here? It's a favorite time of year for me and I am always so inspired by the colors, the coolness in the air, and that it's finally time to pull out warm sweaters and socks (here in Minnesota anyways!)
The Monthly Moments: September collection inspired me to dig up some photos of my girls that I took back in 2012 where they are playing in leaves in our backyard. I actually don't think I have ever printed these photos out before and now here they are preserved on a layout.
I stamped words and elements from the Monthly Moments: September and Falling Leaves sets down the side of my layout. I really love stacking sentiments and words like this on my pages (you might have noticed.) I think it's a nice way to do a little "journaling" without having to write a bunch of things out. It also can help pull the theme of your page together.
The Monthly Moments journal card collection makes it so easy to piece your layout together. I like to use them sort of like "building blocks". On this layout I arranged them in strips through the middle of my page base. Just move things around until you like what you see. I will sometimes lay things out, walk away, and then come back look at it again. Sometimes things stay the same, sometimes I move things around more.
I embellished my page with some Lovely Leaves die cuts from coordinating cardstock colors for the Monthly Moments: September collection: Pure Poppy, Canyon Clay, and Simply Chartreuse. You may also see that I arranged the leaves with the rule of three: three elements arranged in a triangle formation. Arranging the embellishments this way keeps your eye moving around the page making it more interesting and dynamic. This is one of the rules of design that I use most often!
I made up a layout sketch for you from the page that I shared today. I know sometimes that just starting with a sketch can help get a page put together more quickly. Follow the sketch exactly or change things up - it's up to you!
Visit the other members of the Monthly Moments team for some more inspiration from them for this month: Danielle, Melissa, and Ashley.
Happy scrapbooking and please share the pages that you have created with me. I would love to see them!
