introducing big hugs & more monthly moments: december
December 13, 2014
Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink December release countdown. Today is a group post day and everyone is sharing projects with the new Big Hugs set. I also have another page to share today in my December Moments book that was created with my new Monthly Moments: December collection.
All of the new stamp sets and projects that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on December 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Big Hugs is such a great set and I think it's one that's been missing in our stamp collection. When you can't be there in person to give a loved one a hug, now you can send the a beautiful one in the mail.
My first card uses one of the die cut "hugs" and I inlaid it into the kraft cardstock on my card front. I stamped the "sending" banner over the top of the "hugs" word in Smokey Shadow ink and then added the additional sentiment on a Double Ended Banners die cut under underneath.
The flowers and leaves stamped on the kraft cardstock are from the Songbirds set. I did the leaves in Spring Moss and the flowers in Fresh Snow. I love how the lighter tones add detail, but are subtle enough to let the sentiment stand out.
I really love how this sweet card turned out. I stamped the "hugs" word in Smokey Shadow ink and then added the bird created with the Songbirds die so it is sitting on the stamped word.
I had fun sprinkling stamped flowers and dots from the Songbirds set around the stamped sentiment in coordinating colors.
Both of these cards are just the perfect hug substitute when you can't be there in person. I know that this set is going to see a lot of use for sure!
Next I have another page from my December Moments book to share with you...
This page includes a photo of my girls visiting with Santa at a holiday party put on my where Tacy goes for her physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
The journal card on the left is from the Monthly Moments: December journal card collection. I added the North Pole postmark circle image to the middle of the card and a strip of the glitter striped paper to the bottom.
I stamped the "dear santa" sentiment onto a Countdown Details die cut and attached that to the bottom of the picture of my girls with Santa.
Here, I did a bit of journaling on another card from the Monthly Moments: December journal card collection. I titled the card with the Type Strips & new Type Strips II sets using the coordinating Type Bits Strip die.
I added some stamped images and the "ho ho ho" sentiment from the Monthly Moments: December set and a few snowflakes die cut with the Monthly Moments: December dies.
Stop by Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team to see their projects created with the Big Hugs set and coordinating dies. And visit the stamp designer blogs to see more with their new products this month: Dawn, Betsy, Melissa, Lizzie, Lexi, and Erin.
