mini blooms revisited

Happy March, everyone! I hope that you are staying warm where you are. Here in Minnesota it is so very cold and I am looking forward to the warmer months ahead.

The beginning of the month means that it is time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and this month we are revisiting the Mini Blooms set. This time of year inspires me to pull out sets like this as well as some brighter colors to hep inspire for the spring season that is hopefully on its way soon.

I did one of my favorite techniques for this card - emboss resist. I stamped the larger floral clusters in the corners of the kraft cardstock with Versamark ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment with a black waterproof ink and embossed a little cluster next to that too.

To add the color I used some sponge daubers in a rainbow of colors. Where ever the image is embossed, it will resist the ink color. It's such a pretty effect!

I did up a tag to coordinate with the card using the Tag Sale #7 die. I actually stamped everything first and then just laid the die on top of what I wanted cut and sent it right through my die cut machine.

Rustic Jute button twine is one of my favorite accents for cards. Just a simple bow on all my projects today was the perfect touch.

For this little square card, I stamped the sentiment again with a waterproof black ink and then stamped the bouquet of flowers next to it using the simple flowers and leaves in the Mini Blooms set.

For a bit of a watercolor look, I spattered and spritzed a little water over the stamped flowers so that the ink colors would flow a bit.
