introducing chicken scratch & more noted

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown. Today is a group post day and we are all sharing projects created with the new Chicken Scratch collection. I also have a project to share created with my new Noted set.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on March 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

My mom did some chicken scratch embroidery when I was growing up and so working with the set and coordinating projects brought back some fun memories for me. There was (and still is now) always some sort of crafting going on at our house.

You can do a search over on Pinterest and find so many great examples of chicken scratch embroidery. I used several different ideas I saw there to put together the projects that I am sharing today.

For this first project, I kept things fairly simple and quick. I stamped the background with the new Background Basics: Super Gingham set in Spring Moss and then stamped the stitching designs over the top of that.

It's so easy and fun to build borders, patterns, and background designs with set - once you start you won't want to stop!

I got into using the little starburst stitch image quite a bit for this card and also added a row of some sweet flowers.

For this next card, I first used the new Cover Plate: Chicken Scratch die on the white cardstock and then stamped the gingham background over that with Fine Linen ink. If you were wondering, the gridded holes cut into the cardstock made it super easy to lined up and stamp the background!

I stamped several of the larger flower chicken scratch images on the gingham and then stitched in a few details with some embroidery floss.

A few little pearls here and there finished off this delicate design. How pretty would this be for so many different types of occasions?

There are so many options with this little collection and just think of all of the different looks that you will be able to get with different color combinations.

Here's a sweet card and tag ensemble that I put together with my new Noted set.

IMG_7565

I used the single chevron to stamp a multicolored background on white cardstock and then die cut it into a circle shape. I used the "hello" die to cut the word right out of the circle piece so that the kraft cardstock of the card base would show through. I stamped a few hearts that are also included in the set in Fresh Snow ink sprinkled across the card.

For the coordinating tag, I used the die cut word that I cut out of the circle piece and attached that to a kraft tag. This little ensemble came together so quickly and easily.
