autumn style & more twig wreath
August 12, 2015
Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown! Today is a group post day and we are all sharing a modern twist on Autumn with the new Brushed off dies paired with some new leafy die cuts. I also have a card to share with you that is created with my new Twig Leaf set.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
The new Brushed Off stamp set was very fun to play around with to achieve some different effects for the projects I am sharing today. Use the brushstroke images to "paint" your die cut and/or stamped images or play around with creating background for your projects - there are so many possibilities!
For this card, I used the rectangular brushstrokes and "painted" Orange Zest and Canyon Clay so that they merged together to create a blend from one color to another.
Then I used the new Leaf Silhouette dies to cut out the leaf bases and then added the detail pieces in kraft cardstock to finish off each leaf. For the sentiment I used the Noted die cut from a Luxe Gold adhesive sheet to add to the fun modern fall look.
This next card is a bit more rustic in style. I stamped the circular brushstroke images from the Brushed off set in Fresh Snow ink onto the kraft cardstock base. Each polka dot is actually the circle image stamped twice to round the dot off a bit more. It looks like I used a brush and some actual white paint to paint the dots on to create the background.
The die for this card is the new Branching Out die that I cut from some Ripe Avocado patterned paper. The sentiment that I used on tag of this card is from the Autumn Adornments set. The tag is actually a strip of cardstock that has been trimmed on each end with a pinking shears and stitched with a sewing machine.
And lastly today, I have another card to share that is created with my new Twig Wreath set...
I used the coordinating die cuts to put the wreath together for this card. The wreath base is cut from kraft cardstock and then stamped with Dark Chocolate Ink. The flowers are die cut and stamped from Melon Berry and Harvest Gold and then leaves are die cut and stamped with Spring Moss. The centers of the flowers are stamped with Dark Chocolate ink.
Even though I usually stamp so many sentiments in True Black ink, Dark Chocolate has been my color of choice to go with the Twig Wreath set. Added a bit of the Dark Chocolate patterned paper from the Twig Wreath paper pad as an accent along the edge of the card too!
You can see more new products from the Papertey Ink August release and projects created with them over at Nichole's blog. You will be able to link up to other design team members to see the projects that they are sharing for their Autumn Style projects using the Brushed Off set and new leaf dies and also to the stamp designers who have new products to share this month.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back tomorrow with more to share!
