introducing enclosed: leaf & scribbled sentiments + introducing twig wreath
August 10, 2015
Welcome to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown! I have lots of inspiration to share with you today. First up are some projects created with the new Enclosed: Leaf set and dies and the new Scribbled Sentiments set. I also have some projects that are created with my new Twig Wreath set too!
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
This month's edition of the Enclosed series is this gorgeous leaf that is just perfect for this time of year. I had some fun doing some blending with some inks to create this perfect fall leaf. I used Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, and Ripe Avocado and blended them together with a blending tool (you could also use a sponge) on a piece of white cardstock.
After I got the colors blended how I wanted them, I spattered a little water over the top and then dried everything with a heat gun. Where ever the water settled on the cardstock creates the speckled pattern in the ink. I die cut the leaf out with the Enclosed: Leaf die and added the vein details with the Enclosed: Leaf set. I die cut the "grateful" word (trimmed from the Enclosed:Leaf die) with the Luxe Gold adhesive sheet to use along with the "for you" for the sentiment.
I played around with some masking and ink blending for this card and the effect is very cool! I die cut the leaf shape using the Enclosed: Leaf die and then used my ink blending tool to add color over and around the die cut onto the white cardstock.
I wasn't going to use the die cut piece on my card initially. I had set it down onto the white cardstock with the blended ink and when I saw how that looked, I changed my plans and adhered the leaf die cut down. Happy accidents like this are the best!
The whole Enclosed series is perfect for creating shaker cards and that is exactly what I did here! I used a pretty dark chocolate patterned paper (from my new Twig Wreath patterned paper collection!) as the leaf base and built up the shaker from there with the double stick foam, clear cardstock, sequins, and the leaf outline die cut and coordinating sentiment.
The background of the card front is a classic Papertrey set: Stitches & Swirls. I stamped it in Fine Linen onto Rustic White cardstock and it is the perfect backdrop for this leaf shaker!
Next, I made up these fun little gift boxes using the Enclosed: Leaf die along with the new Scribbled Sentiments. These little boxes are perfect for tucking a sweet treat or other small gift into.
The box part is made with the Essential Pillow Box die in kraft cardstock that I stamped polka dots onto with the Polka Dot Basics III set.
I stamped the sentiments directly onto the leaves and tied them to the boxes with some Rustic Jute button twine. How great would these be as favors at a party all lined up on a table?
Now, I am excited to introduce my newest stamp set Twig Wreath! I really enjoyed designing this set and enjoyed creating with it even more!
There is a wreath base in the set as well as coordinating elements to build your own custom wreath design! Twig Wreath retails for $15 and there are coordinating dies and patterned paper that you can purchase as well!
I stamped the wreath for this card and it was just so much fun to add all of the elements to the wreath base! I stamped the wreath base in kraft ink and I actually stamped it twice to build it up a little more. You could stamp more if you want the base fuller.
I did quite a bit of generational stamping when I added the flowers and other elements to the wreath. I love how that simple technique added color and depth to a project like this. You could add flowers all around the wreath or just a few depending on how you want it to look.
How long has it been since you TORE paper to use on your card project? I just had to for this project.
This card uses the new Scribbled Sentiments set along with some of the patterned paper from the Twig Wreath paper pad. I gave the paper a bit of a rustic and worn look that is so perfect for the look and feel of the set - and also a perfect look for fall.
That was so much to share! And there's so much more to see on this first day of the August Papertrey Ink countdown!
You can see more new products from the Papertey Ink August release and projects created with them over at Nichole's blog. You will be able to link up to other design team members sharing projects today and also to the stamp designers who have new products to share this month.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will be back soon with more to share!
