SAF patterns challenge

Heather

I hope that you all are having a great day at Stamp-A-Faire so far! One of the fun things included in the Stamp-A-Faire 2015 kit was a package of go-to stamp patterns from everyone on the Papertrey Ink design team. Today I am sharing my go-to card pattern here along with a few cards created with it.

At first glance, my pattern seems like one that is very simple. I use it quite a lot because the large portion on the card front is great for playing with patterns and techniques! It's a great pattern for letting the stamping stand out as the star of the card with just a little bit of color and embellishment.

For this first card, I tipped the pattern onto its side in a horizontal format. So many of the patterns that are being shared by the design team can definitely be used in either format.

I used the Petite Pots set to stamp a bit of a floral garden along the bottom edge of the white cardstock. So many of the floral sets will work so great with this go-to pattern!

I added a sentiment using a word die cut with the Wonderful Words: Hello die in kraft cardstock and then added the "a happy" from the Wonderful Words: Hello set.

I love to add a little "pop" of something underneath the mat and on this card I used a bit of the Sheer Basics vellum in the bitty dot pattern. Cardstock, patterned paper, vellum, and even ribbon or lace are all great options for a fun accent.

This next card is back up in a vertical orientation and I had a little fun playing with a watercolor technique using the Brushed Blooms set. It's a technique I use often and really love to use with flower images. I ink up the stamp and spritz it with a bit of water before stamping it onto the cardstock. The colors flow just a bit and gives the image a soft watercolor look.

I added the sentiment using one of the Big Hugs dies cut from white cardstock and then stamped the corresponding sentiment from the Big Hugs set below it in True Black ink.

The patterned paper that I used for an accent here is from the Twig Wreath paper pad.
