winter florals & more snowflake sparkle
October 13, 2015
Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown. It's a group post today and the whole design team is sharing some beautiful winter floral projects that aren't necessarily just for the holidays. I also have a project to share featuring my new Snowflake Sparkle set.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
Watercolor techniques + the new Spruce & Springs set is a match made in heaven! I embossed the sentiment first in clear on some watercolor paper. Then I just spritzed each stamp with some water before stamping a border across the top and bottom of the watercolor paper.
I used some Ripe Avocado ink and a water brush to paint over the sentiment and across the middle of the watercolor paper to help it stand out.. I love how peaceful and pretty this card turned out and how well it would work for any time of year.
The watercolor continues on this next card. I embossed the anemone with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper and then used the Clean Color markers and a water brush to color in the flower and block.
A few red rhinestones were the perfect finishing touch to this sweet winter floral card.
Here is a completely different, simple, but elegant look for this next card. I used the Cover Plate: Winter Floral die and cut it from some Fresh Snow linen cardstock. Instead of using the whole image, I trimmed out bits and pieces from the die cut.
I used a wedding sentiment from the Keep it Simple: Wedding set on the Keep it Simple Frame die and arranged the pieces that I trimmed out around it. To finish it off I added just a few silver rhinestones.
Don't you love how versatile all of these new winter floral products can be?
And last, but not least today, here's a card using my new Snowflake Sparkle set...
I embossed some snowflakes in a flurry coming across the right side of the card and then used Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal inks and did some blending across the embossed images. A few drips of water across the blended inks added a few more spots and dots in between then flakes.
I added the sentiment onto the banner strip from the new Tag Sale: Quilted die and paired it with a pop of red with another banner strip die cut from the new Pure Poppy + White patterned paper. One die cut snowflake was the perfect accent to finish off the card.
You can see more new products from the Papertey Ink October release and projects created with them over at Nichole's blog. You will be able to link up to other design team members to see the winter floral projects that they created - and also to the stamp designers who have new products to share this month.
Thank you for stopping by today. I will be back tomorrow with more to share!
