Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink January release countdown. Today is a group post day and we are sharing butterfly inspiration with all of the new butterfly themed products that are making their debut this month.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on January 15, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

Butterfly

You were probably noticing that my projects today are a very different color scheme than something I would normally do. I owe it all to this pretty butterfly here. I was browsing Pinterest and found this beauty of a butterfly that has a kraft like color in it. How could I not get inspiration from that? This is a breed of swallowtail butterfly that is found in Australia. Beautiful.

(I had trouble linking this photo source - instead I kept getting a downloaded a butterfly guide dumped onto my computer.)

Onto the my butterfly inspiration projects...

This card is put together with the new Cover Plate: Butterfly die. I did the Cover Plate die cut in kraft cardstock and then added colored cardstock inserts into the wings inspired my the butterfly photo.

There's a dusting of gold glitter on the butterflies and then I added some glitter sprinkle dots that I had on hand. The sentiment is from the new Bitty Butterflies set. I stamped it onto a strip of Rustic White cardstock and attached it right across the card front.

This next card is done with the Bitty Butterflies set and the coordinating Cover Plate: Bitty Butterflies die. I used the die for a background and layered kraft onto kraft for more of a textured look. I added some stamped butterflies in Orange Zest and Hawaiian Shores onto the card front and scattered them a bit so they look like they are flying up and away.

I stitched the little butterflies with my sewing machine and then folded the wings up a bit for a little dimension. I added a few glitter sprinkle dots and the sentiment again on a Rustic White strip of cardstock.

Finally, I did a larger version of a butterfly using the new Enclosed Butterfly set and coordinating die. I stamped my wing design onto the die cut with Classic Kraft, True Black, Hawaiian Shores, and Orange Zest inks and then stitched it to the card front.

I added the sentiment from the Bitty Butterflies set onto a Rustic White cardstock strip again and added a few glitter sprinkle dots.

This little card ensemble would actually go together really well to bundle up as a gift!
