2016 anniversary set: painted petals
February 14, 2016
Welcome to day 10 of the Papertrey Ink February release countdown and 9th anniversary festivities! Today I have projects to share that are created with the new 2016 Anniversary Set: Painted Petals.
Here are the details on how you can get this years anniversary set:

First of all, I love the watercolor look and style and I love it even more when it's done with floral images. So, to say I was excited about this set was an understatement! I love all of the flowers and all of the possibilities of this set!
For this card, I stamped up my own little wildflower garden. The flowers have multiple step images and so it makes stamping them so quick and easy. I spritzed the inked stamps with water before stamping them to get even more of a watercolor look.
My recommendation for stamping a sort of flower scene like this? Stamp the larger flowers in first and then work backwards in size from there. On this card I did the leaves next, then the Berry Sorbet flowers, and then the little Aqua Mist ones. Just keep filling areas in with each smaller size how it makes sense. I framed up the little flower garden with the new Cover Plate: Pretty Frame die cut from kraft cardstock. I really love that little scalloped border.
For this card, I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white and then stamped the flower underneath the embossed sentiment. I really love how the sentiments fit together just perfectly and there are a bunch of options to customize the sentiment to whatever you need.
I spritzed the inked stamps with water before stamping them again for this card. It's just one of my very favorite looks. I left the edge of the card front a bit rough for this card to keep with the rustic look.
