introducing spring woods, tulip time, and splits
February 10, 2016
Welcome to day 6 of the Papertrey Ink February release countdown and 9th anniversary festivities! I have several cards to share that use a bunch of the new products that are making their debut this month.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on February 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.
First up is a card that I created wit the new Tulip Time set. This is a multi-step stamping set to create these beautiful shaded tulips. The actual flower has 3 steps and I stamped the tulips on my card in Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, and Scarlet Jewel. There are so many color layering possibilities to create tulips in any color that you desire.
The butterfly and stem/leaf images are stamped in 2 steps. I love multiple stamping sets that can make anyone look like an artist. Instead of figuring out how to shade a tulip, just stamp up the layers and it is perfect and beautiful! I stamped and embossed the sentiment that is also from the set with white embossing powder onto a kraft cardstock banner. I layered that over some polka dot Sheer Basics vellum patterned paper and added that to the right side of the card front.
Next is a set that I very excited about and I know you will be too if you loved the Winter Woods set. There are three more birds in this set along with some flower branches. There is a coordinating paper collection as well so you can set your birds into some spring colored scenes.
I used some of the patterned paper here and set the robin into it. The ribbon is sitting on another new product for this release - it's a new set called Splits: Just a note. I embossed the frame portion in white on kraft cardstock that is cut out with the coordinating die cut and then I stamped the sentiment right into the opening on the split part of the frame. The style fit perfectly into this scene and was perfect of the robin to perch on.
I added a few flowers for a spring like touch that I stamped with my new set Be onto the die cut pieces. They are the perfect finishing detail.
Here's another card that I created with the Spring Woods set. I stamped the sparrow and perched it onto some of the floral branches that are all included in the set.
The sentiment that is stamped in Dark Chocolate on the card front is one that is a part of the Spring Woods set and I added a few flower sequins around the branches. I layered the main image onto some Sheer Basics vellum patterned paper and a Fine Linen card base.
Stop by Nichole's blog for lots more to see, 9th anniversary contest details, and to link up to the the design team members that have projects that they are sharing today using new products that are debuting this month!
