fancy folk art revisited

Happy March! It's time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and this month we are revisiting the Fancy Folk Art set.

The Fancy Folk Art set is one that has so many possibilities. You can stamp with the outlines and explore coloring techniques, use the solid stamps to color the outline image, build your image from the solid stamps, a combination of all of there, and more. And these beautiful flowers are wonderful for so many occasions that you need to create a card for.

For this card, I built me flower image from the solid stamps that are included in the set. I played round inking the stamps with different shades of color to give the image a little more depth. For example, when I inked up a stamp with Berry Sorbet ink I added a little bit of Pure Poppy as well. It's very subtle, but the effect is really great.

I created a coordinating paper to use on my card be stamping the outline image in Vintage Cream ink on kraft cardstock and then used that across the top of my card front. The sentiment is stamped in Dark Chocolate and I stamped and cut out the little banner on kraft cardstock to make it pop a bit more on the card.

For this card, I embossed the outline image onto some watercolor paper and then used my Clean Color markers to add color to the image. Emboss resist techniques of any kind are my favorite and it turned out just beautiful on this card.

I added a few red rhinestones on the flowers and that gave the image the prefect finishing touch. The sentiment is stamped on a banner that I added underneath the watercolored image on the card front.
